  1. We're not idiots, we know this is 'cleverly' disguised spam
  2. we should have kept Carlos Pena and drafted Joba Chamberlain...ugh theo
  3. I'd rather just hold onto all three. Salty is off to another meh start and I'm really not convinced he's is all that he's cracked up to be. Frankly his plate discipline is horrendous (6 BB - 32 K) and I'd rather have him show us something before we trade a guy in Bowden who is absolutely on fire right now.
  4. Bowden: 8.0 IP, 3 hits, 0 ER, 4 BB, 7 K. ERA down to 0.86. A bit high on the walks but a very nice performance once again.
  5. You wouldn't happen to know the meaning of life would you?
  6. JOSH BECKETT Anyway if there is one thing that annoys me about this town is the amount of attachment people have towards certain players. It makes it awfully hard to make some decisions sometimes. Manny, Pedro, Nomar, Damon, etc. were not exactly clean breakups. Trading Ortiz is going to be a problem if it ever comes to that and dealing with Papelbon will eventually be one also.
  7. Buchholz's last three starts: 18.1 IP, 6 hits, 1 ER, 4 BB, 21 K (0.33 ERA, 1.96 BB/9, 10.31 K/9)
  8. HANLEY RAMIREZ
  9. Horrible day for me. I had West Virginia going pretty far, so that basically ruins my bracket. Tennessee loses and my dream for a Cornell upset goes down the drain.
  10. ...10 minutes later
  11. I'll take it!
  12. I'd estimate anywhere from $130-200 a ticket depending on how low the row# is. I prefer stubhub to ebay since there is no fee (unless the tickets sell) and you can put them on there for as long as you like
  13. Yanks vs. Sox games are fun, but the intensity of hte game/fans will be more or less depending on how close the teams are. I went with opening day this year and got 4 really nice bleacher seats through the lottery thing.
  14. you have a PM
  15. Lowell has never had a .899 OPS season let alone his career average...
  16. If Dunn can play 1B, then trading Lowell and moving Youk to 3B would be a solid move IMO
  17. Honestly you strung about 20 3rd grade sentences together and then posted two random pictures of Babe Ruth and Earl Webb. Not only that but you failed to relate to the topic of the 'article' and simply gave a dull recap of an otherwise noteworthy history.
  18. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/9058832/Red-Sox-sign-free-agent-reliever-Saito- Love it
  19. Why is this thread still open? We just got Kotsay back
  20. I echoed on this back in July: BLOW IT UP!
  21. Color me extremely disappointed. We didn't do anything last season, which was fine, there wasn't really any huge needs to fill or can't-miss opportunities. But this season we shed a ton of salary and with a FA class that comes along maybe once or twice in a decade it seemed like the Sox would make a move. A player of Teixiera's value rarely hits the FA market and considering he would have been a perfect fit, getting outbid by 10mil (spread out over 10 years) is quite frankly, ridiculous. Now if the Sox go ahead and spend some money on Sheets or make a trade for Peavy then I'll change tunes but right now it looks like the tens of millions of dollars we shed are just going to be pocketed...
