  1. with mota failing his physical the deal could now be scraped. if they can get matos for graffanino i would go it immediately.
  2. speculation right now....if shapiro asks for MDC as a replacement the red sox should scrap everything. mlb.com says the red sox are ready to substitute MDC in this deal. i don't know how accurate that report is but if that happens the this deal is absolutely terrible for the red sox.
  3. id rather not give up 3 of our top 10 prospects and get crisp back. i look at riske as nothing special who fell out of favor with wedge. he was never in any pressure situations last year as wedge relied on other pitchers instead of riske. and bard is worse than shoppach. that would be a completely one sided trade favoring cleveland.
  4. robinson broke the color barrier in baseball. he was a much more significant player in baseball history than roberto clemente. jackie robinson breaking the color barrier allowed players such as roberto clemente to play in the majors. robinson may not have been a better player but what he did for the game is the reason his number is retired throughout baseball.
  5. im hoping theo goes in another direction. the Guardians are trying to raid the sox out of extra prospects because of mota. screw them.
  6. his K rate has gone down the past few years and there is a reason that wedge never used him in tight games. k/9 inn 2003- 9.88 2004- 9.08 2005- 5.95 holds 2003-17 2004-9 2005-0 his statistics have gone down every year. wedge never put him in any tight games last year. he is not that good of a pitcher. the red sox would be smart to not throw in delcarmen to the Guardians if they ask. they would be better off scratching the hole deal right now.
  7. if he asks for delcarmen instead of mota then i would hang up on him....thats 3 of our top 10 prospects for crisp and 2 stiffs.
  8. no.....he was a great player and a great humanitarian but jackie robinson did more for the game in order to get players like clemente into the majors.
  9. we also never gave beckett a physical either. the red sox really have to get things straight down there. whenever they make a deal they should bring in every player involved coming to them in for a physical before pulling a trigger on any deal.
  10. so basically theo took 2 months off and got no increased power out of this. what the hell was the point to leave in the first point.
  11. i had a feeling mota would fail his physical considering he never even took one for boston.
  12. mota plus murphy and maybe another low level prospect should be enough to get jason michaels
  13. belichick will go defense before he ever drafts a running back in the first 2 rounds. he is either going to get a linebacker or a defensive and he might get each in the first 2 rounds. i don't expect them to draft a running back even if they need one. its not in belichick's mold to draft a running back really early in the draft because he never did it when antowain smith sucked it up. why would i expect that to change now. the pats need to upgrade the secondary at safety because rodney may or may not come back. they need a shutdown corner in order to move asante samuel to the slot corner where he is a much better player. the secondary does need an upgrade and that is where you are wrong.
  14. welcome aboard
  15. he shouldn't have had his name on the U.S. team anyways after the injury he had.
  16. I go by zone rating and his career zone rating at third is not good .742. he is also .827 at second for his career which is average at best. hes not a great fielder. a great fielder should be able to get to alot of balls.
  17. graffinino does not have great range at second and he does not have the quick step needed to play third.
  18. if we had told damon take it or leave it then we could have made a deal to get reed a long time ago when they were talking about arroyo going for him along with someone else. the red sox dragged their feet when they could have had reed back awhile ago.
  19. i totally agree one read seat and by the way marte had 57 at-bats last year a very small sample. take a look at manny and arods first 50 or so at-bats in the majors and you will find its not far off from marte's
  20. they are not going to have cora, gonzalez, lowell, loretta, youkilis, snow and graff on the team. thats seven infielders. they dont need that many. graff is the odd man out. plus i dont want him playing third because he lacks the range to play third.
  21. poole will be released and so will starks....i think belichick has had enough of poole be a pussy. they need to draft some young DBacks because they are getting old back there especially at safety.
  22. no the red sox should have set a date earlier than when damon signed and said take it or leave it and then should have moved on to someone else.
  23. graffanino might not make this team if they end up acquiring alex gonzalez. he will likely be either traded(unlikely) or let go.
  24. if lowell shits the bed the sox are in serious trouble. marte needs about 3 months of minor league seasoning in triple A before being ready. the red sox have no one behind lowell who i would even consider a viable option. youkilis is not the answer longterm there either.
  25. no i dont to give up marte. im sorry but i don't think he is worth giving up for crisp
