    i agree.....no team is willing to give anything close to equal value for manny thus the red sox are better off keeping him until his contract runs out.

    If the brewers are in contention and that is possible I doubt they would trade him.

    I'm pretty shocked his rehab is going that quickly. I still don't think he will be fully healthy come opening day and will most likely open on the DL.

    thats an estimate......if he does good in spring training he won't sit around in extended spring training until june. that would only hinder his development. i still believe he will be in greenville like he should be. i can see why he could be in extended spring training as he sucked last year in the GCL league but i think he needs to play as much as possible.

    if stoneman were to trade brandon wood, howie kenrick and ervin santana to the red sox for manny the sox would have jumped all over that immediately

    the thing is we cannot get these prospects even for manny. bill stoneman the angels GM will not part with them. if he would manny would have probably been gone already.

    erstad is moving back to center to open first for kotchman.....stoneman never trades his prospects. he will not be moving the likes of brandon wood, howie kenrick, morales, aybar, mathis and others. the angels have tons of talent on the verge of the bigs. they won't move them and mortgage the future. they have too much talent in those minor league players who will play a vital role in their future.

    if they are in third place in june they will be promoting their prospects not trading them. they are close enough to the big leagues where they will be able to contribute very soon. stoneman never trades his prospects and i doubt he will if they are struggling in june.

    we will see a ton of balls hitting off the monster and over the monster. he is a big upgrade talent wise than millar in the 5 hole. should give manny or ortiz solid protection.

    forgot he started that game against the tigers. papelbon's upside alot better than wang's who i wouldn't be shocked if he was out of the league in 3 years because frankly his stuff is not very impressive. i believe teams will adjust to him. both papelbon and wang are ? marks but if im going to take a pitcher i am going to take a pitcher who has betters tools and frankly better talent and that is papelbon.

    im sorry but that was 1 yr.....he has no track record.....teams now will have a chance to gain a scouting report and see him more than just once.

    papelbon has already started 2 games in the majors. wakefield on the other hand is a knuckleballer and they last forever. age is not a factor with them (go see the niekro's and charlie hough....they pitched forever)

    foulke is a ? mark but when you match up both pitching staffs on paper the red sox have more depth and probably the better pitchers as well.

    he does not put up impressive K numbers. in the AL alot of the time you need to strike guys out. Before we annoint wang for stardom i want to see more and see how he adjusts when teams now have the scouting report on him.

    and the yanks have question mark in their pen as well. who the hell do they have that is reliable in front mo.

    because they are old and other than johnson and mussina are really not that good. i will take schilling, beckett, wells(if no traded) and wakefield against any team in baseball.

    and wang is a ? mark too. i want to see how he adjusts when teams now have seen him for more than 1 time.

    he does not have the value that raycroft has......he is on a streak right now that i would not mess with.....he has been a journeyman throughout his career thus would not bring much in return unlike raycroft.

    His agent was on WEEI today saying that Wells will report to spring training. But that doesn't mean he still will not be traded. he will have a meeting with theo when they report to fort myers.
