  1. i have seen both hannu and raycroft....hannu is more athletic and makes better saves and is more talented. with the rule changes raycroft has sturggled to make the transition as he is not as quick as hannu. if i was running the bruins the minute hannu is healthy enough to come back i trade raycroft for young offensive help and draft picks.
  2. it all depends on what the sox can get for him...if a team is willing to give us a good prospect or 2 then yes i would trade him.
  3. crisp does not have a strong arm....its not an upgrade arm wise from damon to crisp.
  4. yes it does.....drop the thrashers further down.
  5. i agree.....the left side of the infield has two gold glovers which should be fun to watch. loretta hopefully is healthy and should be ok. and youkilis can't be any worse than millar.
  6. the angels will not be trading dallas mcpherson for david murphy and you can quote me on that. mcpherson was a top prospect who got hurt and is recovering. murphy as of now has been a first round bust who is slowly turning it around. bill stoneman never trades his prospects.
  7. no after 2007.....hence the 2 yrs and 18 remaining that the marlins wanted to dump on the sox and they did.
  8. with lowell signed for 2 more years youk will not be moving back to third in 2007 unless lowell is really bad something i don't see happening.
  9. carlos lee is a better investment than torri hunter who is an overrated player. hunter is overpaid and does not do much with the bat.
  10. Egan will start the season in Greenville which is Low A ball instead of Lowell which is short season A ball. College players just drafted tend to go straight to lowell.
  11. hannu is the more talented goaltender than raycroft. i like raycroft but he does not make the ridiculous type of saves i have seen hannu make. hannu is much quicker and in this NHL with less pads for the goaltender that is key.
  12. the angels will never trade santana and figgins plus two top prospects for manny. bill stoneman is very tough to deal with as he won't part with any of his good prospects or players. he likely will come back with well you have to take erstad and cabrera and assume their entire contracts if you want this prospect(s). ain't happening. the sox are not trading manny this close to the season. if teams did not want to give equal value back in november and december they surely won't now.
  13. i agree....joe is one of the most loyal managers in the game and was playing bernie in center longer than he should have. he sticks with his guys and if you are not in his circle them he won't use you especially if you are in the bullpen.
  14. this team is much improved defensively than last year especially on the left side of the infield.
  15. this is the lineup that you will see come the start of the season.
  16. in the end there was no other team bidding for alex gonzalez services thus the red sox had the upper hand in the negoiations with gonzalez and the result was a short commitment at lower money than gonzalez was looking for.
  17. decent with the glove not the bat. i knew there was never a market for him and that he would never get anything close to 5 million. he is actually taking a paycut as he made 3.4 million last year.
  18. good to see the sox didn't cave in and give him multiyears at 5 mil per season
  19. you spend it in the international free agent market or you spend it signing high impact guys in the draft that fall because they say they are going to college. there are many ways to invest it in the farm system. i can guarantee you that the red sox will never pony that type of money up for 1 season of roger clemens. theo would put that money into the farm system before he ever spends that type of money on clemens. this love fest with clemens is a pipe dream. he is not coming back here. the red sox will never give him that type of money. if he wants to come back here at under 10 million maybe the sox would consider it but they would be out of their mind to pay him between 15-18 million for 1 season.
  20. 15-18 million is a waste of money for 1 season. the redsox should not spend that type of money on clemens. i would put that money to what will help the sox in the future and that is the farm system. clemens will not even be around then. i would love clemens back but not for that type of money.
  21. he is a good pitcher still but not worth anything near the 18 million he was paid last yr. the red sox would be wise investing that money in the farm system.
  22. highest paid pitcher because he went to arbitration i believe. he played for 5 million in 2004. i dont want the red sox giving clemens 18 million dollars because frankly its a waste of money when that money can go to signing high impact talent in the draft that falls or international free agents. clemens is not worth 18 million anymore. if he wants to play for the sox at 5 million like he did in 2004 then fine but anything more and i hope the sox do not pursue it.
  23. i do not think $ is a factor for him anymore. he has enough of it. he went to houston for a reason to be closer to his family. he is comfortable in houston. i don't see him being away from his family for an extended period of time at his age when he has nothing left to prove. if he wants to pitch this coming year he will do it close to home where he can see his family more than he can if he was in boston or new york.
  24. 5-0 win and Tim Thomas's first NHL shutout
  25. i don't think that will happen....i would love him back here but he is not coming back. he is focusing on the WBC before he even decides if he wants to come back this yr. if he comes back its either with the astros on may 1st or i think he will sign with the rangers. clemens to the red sox is a pipe dream.
