    Speaking for myself, at age 62, I am not playing the long game as a fan. 2022 isn't too bad, but if they have some injuries and a bad start, those plans can go into the crapper. This was supposed to be the Yankees season, and look at them. When you are on a good run and still contending at the end of July, I think you have to seize the day.

    Three things about the Chavis trade. 1. He's one of Ben's guys and Ben believes in him. Not Bloom's guy so he was never going to get a chance. 2. Ben knows hitters and he is clueless about pitching. 3. Bloom seems to know pitching so maybe Davis will be helpful.

    I think his lack of moves sends a bad signal to the team. He didn’t want to part with prospects or take salary so his moves were not very impactful.

    Agreed. Without reinforcements, this team could take a bad turn. Blue Jays have added Hand and Berríos and they are pretty far back. Yanks added two big bats, and Bloom has a guy on the DL.

    I guess Bloom will go for some oft-injured retread pitcher with a big salary. Oh, wait, ... he already signed Garret Richards.

    The Schwarber move is a head scratcher for me, but Kimmi said that Bloom would do something that no one expected.

    Hamstrings are unpredictable. Schwarber is projected for Second week of August, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see him until September. I guess, Kike will move to 2B full time and Verdugo will be the CF. Arroyo could be moved to 1B again until the IL comes again. Hopefully, Bloom gets a couple of pitchers.

    sounds like a steal. Can he play 1B. He came up as a catcher.

    If Bloom wants to do something meaningful, he will need to part with prospects or eat salary, or a combination of the two. Certainly, the Red Sox have some overrated prospects who will never amount to much in the Bigs.
