  1. D. Nava, LF A. Pierzynski, C X. Bogaerts, 3B S. Drew, SS J. Bradley Jr., CF ^ This is a horrible 5 through 9. It's no wonder that we are one of the worst teams in the league. You can't win consistently when you are rolling out this garbage.
  2. Welcome. Tell us a little about yourself.
  3. The biggest absentees this season have been Pedroia (a mere shell of himself) and Victorino. If they show up and perform, that could kick start this offense, and maybe they don't need an additional bat if Holt is not just a flash in the pan. However, Victorino's body seems to be breaking dow, so I am not sure that he is still an everyday player, and Pedroia has never been the same since his hand issues. He may be permanently damaged or impaired. That can happen with hand injuries. Jim Rice lost a lot of his power as the result of wrist injuries. I think they need a contingency plan if Victorino and Pedroia do not perform as they have in the past.
  4. He is disposable. If they can move him to another team to help with another part of the roster, they should. There is no reason to hold onto him on a team with the 3 worst record in the league especially when they have a veteran replacement/clone at AAA. it's time to start shaking up this roster. Sitting and waiting will do nothing.
  5. He is not the same as he was in 2013. They should swap him out for Hill who is doing fine in Pawtucket. Is that why we have Hill-- as Breslow insurance? WHat's the use of leaving him in AAA if Breslow isn't getting it done.
  6. Capuano should be cut. The guy stinks. He couldn't cut it with the pathetic Mets. Get rid of him and clear his roster spot.
  7. You know that the odds are against you when you face king Felix.
  8. We need one more bat and the return of victorino who hasn't played in 3 or 4 games in AAA. What is up with him? I thought he just had "body soreness". We also need Pedroia to go on one of his second half white hot streaks.
  9. LOL!! Our only run on Saturday was on a pitch that the catcher blocked out in front of the plate allowing Pedroia to steal the run.
  10. I followed it a lot when the NY Cosmos played. They brought over a lot of big stars: Pele, Beckenbauer, Alberto, and Chinaglia.
  11. After we got out of the 8th inning with a 2 run lead, I went out to run an errand that i had put off all weekend. I couldn't believe that Koji gave up 2 HRs and blew the save. Thank goodness for David Ortiz. We always need him to bail us out.
  12. I tried throughout the years, but it just doesn't work for me.
  13. The rest of the world had better hope that the popularity of Soccer doesn't continue to grow in the US. In a country of 300 million people, we have a huge talent pool that most small countries don't. As for me, I like the USA winning on the international sports stage, but I hate the sport catching on here. When I go to a bar, I would rather watch pro-bowing than soccer.
  14. That last AB had trouble written all over it. Farrell brings in Miller who has made a specialty of blowing games to face a lefty, but oh! brain fart! the A's have our nemesis sitting on the bench -- Coco Crisp who has beat us twice in this series. Seriously, has Farrell gone completely brain dead making that move.
  15. He's no Willie Harris. And I mean that as a compliment.
  16. LOL!! He is bak to normal in his last AB flailing like a blind man at fly.
  17. The completely useless Ross has 2 hits and a HR today. Oye!! Now, he will be here longer.
  18. I think we would be a better team if we signed Jackie Bradley Sr. instead of Jr.
  19. The Red Sox are dead last in the AL in Slugging %, next to last in Runs and HRs. The Astros are ahead of them in each of those categories. Truly pathetic. Back up the truck, Ben. This group stinks. Payoff Drew and put Bogaerts back at SS. Why delay his development for a guy that is giving us nothing. Send down Nava. At a .297 OBP batting .207, he has zero major league skills. He just doesn't belong at the MLB level. Enough of Gomes against right handed pitching. He has taken about half of his ABs against righties, and his stats against righties are just about half of what they are against lefties. He is strictly a platoon guy. Get a Lefty to platoon with him. Get rid of Ross. A personal catcher on the 11th best team in the league is pointless and ridiculous. Let's see what Vasquez has. Get him up here. He can't do any worse than Ross with the bat. When I see Ross hit, he reminds me of fat old Bob Bailey in 1978 helplessly flailing away. Get Betts up and put him at 3rd. Send down Bradley, jr. and let him find himself in AAA. Put Holt in CF. This kid is athletic, and he may be the brightest spot of the season. The pitching is okay. They just need to sort out who stays in the rotation when Buch comes back. I'd consider trading Peavey if theycould get something of value like a left handed OF platoon type. He can't sit pat with this group or there will be more torturous losses and boredom. Worse than the losing, this team is extremely boring to watch. They have me actually considering watching soccer and I deplore soccer.
  20. This is a horrendous offense. Nava, Drew, Herrera and Bradley. What a collection of s***.
  21. This series is going down the tubes.
  22. I don't understand the stubborn insistence of sending Bradley out game after game when he is so clearly overmatched. Victorino's absence has been a killer.
