  1. It's not hard to talk about speed. Bernie was extremely fast first to third, and anytime he had to run 2 or 3 bases. He just couldn't get the first step acceleration to steal bases. Bradley and Bernie are not comparable players no matter how similar their stats might be right now. Also, almost 100 pts difference in OPS is not very similar. Maybe Bradley will be a great player, but they are not similar types.
  2. Buch's start has been encouraging, but he is still giving up the long ball.
  3. The bum that beat us last night got sent t the minors today. That speaks volumes about our punchless offense.
  4. The Red Sox are on a pace to lose 90 games this season. If that happens, they will have lost 90 games in 2 out of 3 seasons separated by a World Championship season. That would be bizarre. Putting this in context, in the 48 years that I have been a fan (including 2014), 90 loss seasons have been more rare for the Red Sox than World Championships.
  5. That's not the point that I was making. As athletes, they are not comparable at all. Bernie was a big, strong yet swift athlete with a lot of power, good OF range and an average throwing arm. Bradley is small, without much power. He's not as fast as Bernie who could burn up the bases going first to third (but not a base stealer). Bradley has a much stronger arm than Bernie. Edit: Bradley has just about as many ABs in the majors as Bernie head in his rookie season and his OPS is 87 points lower than Bernie's
  6. Bradley and Bernie Williams? I am not seeing that at all. They are almost completely different types of players.
  7. Buchholz's return tonight should really give a shot in the arm to the offense.
  8. Peavy just plain stinks. Get his ass out of here. He will not be here next season and he is providing no help this year. Get rid of him. Give him away to anyone that will take his prorated salary.
  9. If they keep rolling out this garbage, they will make a run at their 2012 record.
  10. Grunt some more on the mound, Peavy. It is fitting to go along with the s*** you are taking on the mound.
  11. Peavey f*** you and your stupid screaming. Just get some outs.
  12. The Mets kicked the crap out of the A's and Kasmir 10-1 today. We had so much trouble with the A's.
  13. You are acting like a couple of *******s.
  14. The team stunk before 6/1 too
  15. D. Nava, LF A. Pierzynski, C X. Bogaerts, 3B S. Drew, SS J. Bradley Jr., CF ^ This is a horrible 5 through 9. It's no wonder that we are one of the worst teams in the league. You can't win consistently when you are rolling out this garbage.
  16. Welcome. Tell us a little about yourself.
  17. The biggest absentees this season have been Pedroia (a mere shell of himself) and Victorino. If they show up and perform, that could kick start this offense, and maybe they don't need an additional bat if Holt is not just a flash in the pan. However, Victorino's body seems to be breaking dow, so I am not sure that he is still an everyday player, and Pedroia has never been the same since his hand issues. He may be permanently damaged or impaired. That can happen with hand injuries. Jim Rice lost a lot of his power as the result of wrist injuries. I think they need a contingency plan if Victorino and Pedroia do not perform as they have in the past.
  18. He is disposable. If they can move him to another team to help with another part of the roster, they should. There is no reason to hold onto him on a team with the 3 worst record in the league especially when they have a veteran replacement/clone at AAA. it's time to start shaking up this roster. Sitting and waiting will do nothing.
  19. He is not the same as he was in 2013. They should swap him out for Hill who is doing fine in Pawtucket. Is that why we have Hill-- as Breslow insurance? WHat's the use of leaving him in AAA if Breslow isn't getting it done.
  20. Capuano should be cut. The guy stinks. He couldn't cut it with the pathetic Mets. Get rid of him and clear his roster spot.
  21. You know that the odds are against you when you face king Felix.
  22. We need one more bat and the return of victorino who hasn't played in 3 or 4 games in AAA. What is up with him? I thought he just had "body soreness". We also need Pedroia to go on one of his second half white hot streaks.
  23. LOL!! Our only run on Saturday was on a pitch that the catcher blocked out in front of the plate allowing Pedroia to steal the run.
