The initial offer of $70 million will end up being less than half of what he will get. That wasn't a reasonable starting point. It didn't show good faith. It demonstrated the opposite. But we will have to move on. That doesn't change the fact that they f***ed this up.

If front line pitching ends up being prohibitively expensive for the Red Sox, they probably should not have spent $200 million on Panda and Hanley. Without a good staff, it is still a 4th place team.

Top pitching is at a premium, and we have none of it, so we will have to pay market prices.

Leake stinks. We are not in need of back of the rotation guys. We have plenty of them with Kelly, Buchholz and a host of kids like Rubby, Webster and Workman. If they feel the need to get another back of the rotation type, I'd rather that they sign Masterson and package Cespedes with someone else to get a #2.

I was online at 10 am this morning to buy Spring Training tickets. I was shocked at how fast the tickets were selling. I try to get Grandstand tickets, because they are in the shade. Of the 4 games that I tried to purchase, those tickets were available for only 1 game. I ran out of time making my purchase, so I had to repeat the process, and when I did, one of the games was sold out to the point where i couldn't purchase two seats together. This team definitely knows how to make money.

That may be the best offer that we get for him, and I think it would be a fair trade. That rumor seems to have come and gone at this point.
