  1. Going down the stretch with Franchy in the lineup doesn’t bode well.
  2. Ignore this unwarranted positivity. ^
  3. If we get this ERod the rest of the way, we could pull out of this death spiral with Sale returning.
  4. Yeah, who wants a GM that almost always wins his Division.
  5. you picked a good time to turn off the game. With the Yankees up by 1 run the bases loaded and 2 outs and a 3-2 count, Gardner hit a grounder right at the SS who was going to one knee to field it when it came up and hit him in the jaw and 2 runs scored. That is when I turned it off.
  6. They said the explanation was that they couldn’t confirm that his foot was down on the plate. I don’t know how an out call at the plate can be reversed if the player goes in feet first.
  7. How does that .755 OPS stack up against Schwarber’s OPS for games that he has been on the DL?
  8. I think we would have to put the migraine game in the “bad start” category, so that would be 3 bad starts in his last 6 outings, and he hasn’t gone 6 in any of them. It isn’t impossible for him to turn it around, but his recent trend hasn’t been very good.
  9. But Bloom won the Schwarber deal according to Bleacher Report, and that is what really matters.
  10. Repetition is always very convincing and much appreciated.
  11. ERod is the key down the stretch. If he doesn’t straighten himself out and start going deep into games with quality starts, the staff and bullpen will not be sustainable.
  12. Sox Radio Announcer closed with “get the Rays on here and flush the toilet”. I think he gives that remark a different meaning than I do. But yes, the toilet is about to be flushed on this season.
  13. So what is your point? Richards is a stopper who gives the pen a breather when he takes the mound? Please.
  14. And no one projected the 2013 team to be in first place either. Both were in first place at the trading deadline. Ben reinforced the 2013 team and Bloom did nothing to help this team. I can’t believe that I miss Ben. I really thought Bloom knew pitching better than Ben, but he doesn’t.
  15. Give yourself a prize for correctly identifying the skunk of the game.
  16. And Perez is out of gas and that is an absolute killer for the pen to cover for 2 guys out of 5 that are that bad.
  17. And his option was to use Robles— another complete waste.
  18. Sure 5 innings 4 runs. Let’s give the 5+ ERA pitchers an award. The bullpen is on high alerts in the first inning of his pathetic starts. He’s a bullpen killer.
  19. Cora is not responsible for this tail spin. This is at the feet of Bloom.
  20. Another Cora binkie. Never should have let him bat there, and up comes His other face, Vasquez as a PH. Oye.
  21. He has trouble with elite hitters even when we’ll rested.
  22. He’s useless. Valdez can do better than a 5.50 ERA. Bring back the Weber punching bag. At least he doesn’t whine that he can’t cheat.
  23. Did anyone not see that coming? Barnes is over taxed and the big boys can usually get him anyway. Our starters give us pathetic innings. Scoring 8 should be more than enough and your starter should be able to give you 6. Our pitching is a joke. Death spiral continues. No funeral tomorrow. It’s an off day. I will be wearing black when we play Tampa.
  24. Tampa with a 6 run top of the 8th inning topped off by a grand slam.
