    The competition will be fierce. A couple of more injuries like my team losing Wainwright and you might have a chance, but I' ll just have to find a way.

    Miley was pretty miserable last year. I thought that the league had caught up to his mediocre stuff and that the NL had the book on him. Sometimes a change of league's can help a guy like that for a year or two. I just shake my head when I think about the extension.

    A couple of comments about today's game. Unfortunately, the injuries to Victorino and Castillo are prolonging the ill-fated Craig experiment. The guy is toast. As for Miley, I was hoping that he would be a crafty lefty who would benefit from a change of leagues, but I am not surprised at what I am seeing from him. I would have been surprised if we got a good pitcher from Arizona in return for the 2 bags of trash that we sent to them in return. What did surprise me was giving this guy a contract extension before Spring Training. He has some nice financial security. Good for him, but the fans have no feelings of security when he is on the mound. Finally, Holt needs to play everyday.

    Craig should just be released. There is no way for him to get enough playing time to showcase him. They are wasting time with him.

    Holt should play everyday. He plays several positions better than our starters and he just does everything right and makes good contact most of the time.

    After 6 innings, Jon Lester was at 104 pitches. The Cubs tied up the game at 3 -3 in the top of the 7th. With 2 out, Maddon sent Lester up to bat in the 7th. I switched channels figuring that Lester would make the 3rd out which he did. I switched back to the Cubs game to see Lester throw the 7th inning. A lefty was on the mound, but it was Phil Coke who relieved Lester after 6 innings without Lester throwing a pitch in the 7th inning. What!

    I expected that he would have better instincts in the outfield. Didn't he play the Outfield in our system one season?

    Not Porcello's fault. A decent left fielder catches that ball He makes an adventure of the final out too.

    I didn't need a metric to see that Hanley is not an outfielder. I needed one Spring Training game. The guy broke back hard on an infield pop up. He is a menace out there.

    He started off terrible last year too. By the time he got going it was such an uphill battle that his numbers at the end were below par for him.
