We can agree that he might get back to a 4.5 ERA. Where we differ is that I don't think a 4.5 ERA by our #1 or 2 starter will be good enough to keep the team in contention.
Interesting. I don't think they will call him up to send him back down when Victorino gets activated. Maybe Craig and Nava will be looking for employment.
Announcers discussing the pitch that gives Allen Craig problems. Umm, ... that would be the one that leaves the pitcher's hand. He is hitting under .140 and OPSing at .440ish, but it is early.
Team ERA continues to climb. Enigmatic? If we keep using that word in reference to our pitching, Websters may have to add an alternate definition of the word. Let's go for it.
I would. It was not a good AB. The pitcher beat him on that pitch and broke his bat. I would have loved for that ball to have fallen in, but it would have been a lucky hit, unlike the bomb that EE just hit.
Not bad luck. He broke his bat and made an out with men in scoring position and a hitter's count. If that ball fell in, it would have been bad luck for the pitcher. Craig just sucked once more.
Craig has had the opportunity to seize more playing time with so many guys hitting so poorly. He has really blown it. Nava and Napoli will eventually hit and there will be no playing time for Craig.
Don says that if Kelly can get out of the first inning having given up only 1 run on 31 pitches that will be impressive. Seriously, Don? That exemplifies how bad the pitching has been.
