  1. You really mixed and matched a lot of guys that don't belong in the same class bsaed on 1 years performance. I don't think that is very useful information when it comes down to building rosters or offering contracts. Also, Dave McNally was not the 4th starter on the 1971 Orioles. He was a CY Young contender in those years. Teams don't name their number 4 starter as their opening day starter. Your comment about McNally is dead wrong.
  2. After a lot of research all people could find was a couple of #2 guys making $20 million at the back end of backloaded contracts. I have seen no example of #2/3 pitchers getting long term contracts with AAV's of $20 million. So, it looks like the Red Sox have established a new market level for #2/3 pitchers. Porcello has always been no higher than a number 3 on his own team and in only 1 year in his 6 year career did he perform better than a number 3. So, he will have to improve his performance going forward to justify his contract. I think them's the facts.
  3. Porcello has been very good twice in a row. We need him to step up.
  4. Porcello needs to improve his performance to be worth his contract. Lester needs to maintain his level of performance to be worth his contract. That is another way of looking at it.
  5. Game over by 9:40. We get a win and a good night's rest.
  6. This game has been a pleasure to watch. These uniforms have added to my enjoyment. Freddie Lynn on the hill for the save. Lol!
  7. A couple of runs would be nice to lock down the game.
  8. Burleson mentioned that Remy is sick. What are the reports?
  9. I have seriously had it with the cheap shot sniping tactics.
  10. These uniforms really bring back memories for me of the 1974 to 1979 seasons.
  11. Is there anyone else available at this time with experience?
  12. Salty has been released. The Marlins could not find a trade partner, and reportedly it is a certainty that he will clear waivers. Bringing him bac might not be a bad idea. He can strap on the equipment for 100 games.
  13. He's not building any velocity. That has to concern the organization.
  14. When he had the hot start in2013, I was hoping to get a full season of around 180 innings out of him to build his trade value and get a haul of prospects for the last 2 years of his contract, but he couldn't stay healthy. He has stunk since then. He's a drag on the rotation, and I am not sure that he can turn it around.
  15. The Nats might be willing to move Jordan Zimmerman for a guy that can field in the IF. Their SS is a disaster.
  16. Unfortunately, this ship of fools called a rotation have remained healthy. I wouldn't mind if a couple if them ran into a wall.
  17. I can't believe that I am posting this, but they should probably bring back Salty. They can't stick with catching Leon half the games. The guy is a blackhole in the lineup and his catching is not helping much right now. We don't want to ruin Swihart's confidence and bust another prospect. Salty could be a good move.
