  1. There is one major difference when comparing the 2015 team to the 2004 team. The 2004 team was stocked with top talent. This team is not. I'll assume that last post was a joke so your credibility doesn't go into a nose dive.
  2. This will skew your perception of reality even further. LOL!! The Red Sox are dead in 2015 my friend, and those of you who cling to hope that they have a chance are hard to take seriously as objective judges of players abilities and talents.
  3. You have one threesome and you think everything is possible. It may be possible, but it ain't gonna happen. Make yourself useful and come up with some good ideas for the Hot Stove Thread.
  4. The devotees claimed he had no autonomy on the bad moves but credited him for the good moves. I am certain that he would have had some autonomy under DD.
  5. Yes, that is true, but there were articles indicating JH's involvement that stoked that argument.
  6. But if Ben stayed he would be the presiding GM over the success. By leaving, it will always be a debate. His draftees will have to pan out, because his trade acquisitions are bombing.
  7. According to the Ben devotees, the excuse for Ben is that he had no autonomy under Lucchino and that is why he screwed up the team. He stayed and worked under LL's thumb, but now he demands autonomy that he never had? That makes no sense.
  8. Yes, Douquette devotees and/or Theo haters give him credit. There has been no decision on how much credit Dan deserves as there will be none as to what Ben deserves.
  9. Put down the crack pipe. We have a Hot Stove Thread already.
  10. If he was certain that he had them on the right track, he should have stayed. That's just my opinion. They all said that they wanted him to stay. As the GM, he would have been credited with a fair bit of the success. By leaving will get no credit except from the Ben devotees.
  11. If he felt that his plan was going to come to fruition, he should have stayed. He would still have been the GM and gotten the credit.
  12. He was given the opportunity to stay on.
  13. Thunder, please don't tell me you have started taking hallucinagens. That is not a good idea.
  14. Never trade elite. You lose when you do that. It comes along far less frequently than good or very good.
  15. Ben failed to maximize the value of several assets.
  16. Theo is not in startup mode. He has been there for 4 seasons and has already fully assembled his team. Bringing in Ben would be disruptive at this point, imo.
  17. I think the organization would keep the elite talent over the very good. Hitting wise, Swihart projects to be better than Vasquez, but not elite. I think you stay with the elite catcher over the better hitter as the elite catcher is more valuable.
  18. They are not even close defensively. That type of fielding talent cannot be learned. Hitting can be learned. Look at Yadier Molina.
  19. Yep. That is right. After 4 seasons, Theo has a power structure in place. Bringing in Ben at an important position could unsettle things. Why would he do that when his organization is finally on a good track?
  20. he was one of our untouchable prospects that people didn't want to move in a package for Miggy.
  21. It would have to be for a top tier guy as he is arguably our most valuable trade chip right now. We could be selling high on him or he could become a star. That is for DD to figure out. The thing with high value prospects is that once you give them the job of they hit .250- .260 with 12 HRs and average defense, they lose value as trading chips.
  22. I don't think Theo will hire him. Hoyer is his boy. Why would he upset Hoyer's apple cart by bringing in Ben.
  23. I agree that Bradley has a lot to prove. Right now, he is headed in the right direction. He needs to build on that, which is why he needs to play everyday for the rest of th season. Get Hanley out of there and hand him a third baseman's mitt. Send fatso to rehab to deal with his food issues. It took Bradley a very long time to adjust to big league pitching and now he is on a tear. As he continues playing, the pitchers will make adjustments to how they work him, we need to find out how quickly and successfully he can make his adjustments. You have to be able to do that to be a successful major league hitter.
