  1. We need a game thread. MVP, you were on of the few that had good mojo last year. Start us off on a run.
  2. The s***** attitude fit Philly. As for choking Harper, a lot of people felt that Harper could use a good ass kicking. He is pretty high on the jack ass scale. At least he went after a big stud with an attitude and not the 65 year old traveling secretary. It couldn't have been looked at as such a terrible thing by the organization as they have kept Papelbon and gotten rid of Storen. I don't hold it against our guys if they leave us, because we don't want to pay them. It's not like he went to the Yankees. Maybe the guy rubbed you the wrong way, but I don't think he was considered unlikeable in Boston.
  3. The Globe should go out of business
  4. DH will be open next season.
  5. i get tired of pointless Papelbon hate. You do it to get under Iortiz's skin, but there is zero reason for Red Sox fans to hate him. He was great for us and durable. Opinions to the contrary about his time in Boston are unsupported by facts and just stupid. So, yeah I get tired of it. No one is saying that we want him back. We have Kimbrel now in his prime.
  6. i don't know what happened in Philly, but I don't remember a negative relationship with the Press in Boston. He pitched very well in Philly without too many blown saves. Philadelphia had a lot to gripe about with their team. Papelbon wasn't one of them.
  7. Maybe so. Clearly, they would have been better off with a couple of prospects.
  8. I don't remember him having a problem with the media when he was in Boston.
  9. He looked to be decent around 1B in Spring Training.
  10. I am sure that they thought it was the best package available. Otherwise, they would not have accepted it. Clearly, they were wrong, and other packages were better.
  11. Sam Travis continues to make his case in AAA. This guy's bat will not be denied. Benintendi must be very fast. He already has 6 triples.
  12. Jeff Bailey had better power.
  13. And were willing to take an albatross like Craig to get him.
  14. He had a choice to get a better deal.
  15. It seemed like we were all in agreement on this.
  16. Farrell also doesn't know what he meant.
  17. I had to come back to NY today, so I didn't get to the game. I just finished watching on DVR, and I am glad that I wasn't there. Price looked like horseshit. Hanley has been hitting the ball hard with nothing to show for it. I expect him to break out very soon. Shaw is making Pablo a complete no-issue. The guy doesn't wast any ABs and he is a much better fielder than I had expected him to be. Pedroia is heating up. Bogaerts is heating up. Betts is getting in a groove. David Ortiz continues to be great. It was a very disappointing game today, but there are a lot of bright spots. I think this team will go on a run on the road.
  18. What is Bogaerts' status?
  19. Yep. And we don't know which party was mad at the other party and for what.
  20. The whole "Lackey was unhappy" theory and the reasons for it are speculation. Maybe Lackey didn't want ti acknowledge the arm injury because it would kick in the 1 year extension at the minimum.
  21. Price vs. Odorizzi Game Time 1:35 Let's end this homestand on a high note.
  22. ESPN is a crackpot organization in its own right. Being fired by them is like a right of passage.
  23. Remy almost ran over McCartney?
  24. He was helpless at bat.
