  1. This game is done. I will make the game thread tomorrow and bring my at-the-game mojo.
  2. Too soon to panic, but not too soon to fire Farrell.
  3. The Rays bench can't believe that Kiemaeir hit a Home run.
  4. I will be at the next 2 games. My mojo will turn around the offense.
  5. Usually, he throws at 84+ topping at 88, but I don't remember anyone other than a knuckleballer hitting 79 on the gun.
  6. Koji's first pitch was 79 mph the other day. That was alarming.
  7. And they lead the ALE in players who could walk down Main Street in any major US city without being recognized never mind being asked for an autograph.
  8. That had to hurt.
  9. I still have my doubts as to pitch characterization. I think the location plotting is accurate. Nevertheless, even if it is all accurate, he is just not pitching low in the zone. he can't live upstairs whether it is intentional or unintentional.
  10. Are you from Brooklyn? I love watching those old games.
  11. It is still playing Russian Roulette with Longo. Taz did a great job, but there isn't much room for error with Longo.
  12. Who is to say that the pitch identification is accurate? I value Jerry Remy's opinion on anything baseball, and I remember him saying that it is very difficult to identify pitches.
  13. He's been looking good.
  14. I would have walked him. He is the 1 guy in the lineup that I would not give a chance to beat me.
  15. I did say that either he is not throwing it or that he has lost it. It is just not there consistently low in the zone. How do we know from pitch/fx if some of those pitches that are up are not miss-located sinkers. I am not being sly, but how would we know. Yes, we can differentiate the breaking stuff and maybe the 4-seamers, but what about the other pitches?
  16. And they fire their manager. Plus, there is a wide chasm between last year's performance and a #2 performance. I'll take a nice steady #4 performance from him.
  17. 2014 looks to be an outlier for him. His performance before and after has not closely approached that in 5 other full seasons. If he can't keep the ball down (and he hasn't been able to do that consistently), he will not have a 2014 type season. And he wasn't the #2 on that team. He was the #4.
  18. True, and if he is consistent, I think he could be a #3. Without the quality sinker that we expected him to have when we got him, he is not a #2. I haven't seen him pitch consistently low in the zone since we got him. IMO, he can't be consistently successful up in the zone.
  19. This lineup could make Porcello look like a #1.
  20. 2014 was an outlier. His bread and butter pitch was his sinker. He doesn't throw it anymore or he doesn't have it anymore. Without his bread and butter out pitch, he has no chance of being a #3. Is that clear enough for you Freddie? If you are so convinced of his aptitude, pick him up in your Fantasy league.
  21. Jamie Moyer was not my idea of a #2 either, but that is just me. Porcello is just never going to be a #2 imo. His bread and butter i.e. his sinker deserted him before he could establish any consistent top of rotation results with his sinker. He had one good season. It looks like an outlier. Other than his sinker, the rest of his arsenal is meh ,and he can't get #2 results with it.
  22. Stats are not stuff. He doesn't have the stuff i.e. the arsenal of a #2. He's a #4, Mrs. Porcello. Edit: Plus that was only 1 year out of 6 full seasons, andhe was the #4 starter on that staff.
  23. I watched a lot of Young in 2014 for the Mets and in 360 + ABs, he was pathetic. He didn't do well against LHP and he was completely inept against RHP. Give him until the end of the month and then go in a different direction.
