    I haven't heard any rumors yet, but I agree that the rotation needs more of a shot in the arm than Owens. Maybe they are waiting to see how fast ER progresses. I would expect that to take another month to see what he can offer the rotation.

    He did have value regardless of any negative feelings he might have had. He was healthy and throwing well and he was under contract for the following year at the league minimum. He had tremendous value as a trade chip imo. Not only didn't they get anything of value in return. They took on extra payroll. It was a huge whiff by Ben, even if Lackey had started to walk around with a bucket of chicken under one arm while holding a six pack with his other hand.

    He is damaged goods. I guess that they might be keeping him because they would have to eat his whole contract if they parted ways with him now. They will probably let this play out a little longer to see if somehow he can rebuild a little value. I don't think that will happen. I agree with you. The handwriting is on the wall. Pablo has no future with the Red Sox organization.

    Myers beat his wife to a pulp so badly that he got arrested while out of town on a road trip. I don't remember Papelbon doing anything bad while on Boston. He certainly didn't do anything like Myers. I think you are being unfair to him.

    i just don't remember much negative about him in the press when he was in Boston. He danced in his underwear when he celebrated in 2007, but everyone got a good laugh out of that. I just can't recall him having any negative incidents with the press, the fans or the manager. You are revising history. We get it that you don't like him, but the guy did the job for us for a lot of years without incident.
