  1. Talking out of both sides of your mouth. You agree that clutch can't be proved or disproved, but yet you deny the existence of it. I have no idea what this ^ post means.
  2. But you did conclude that clutch doesn't exist. That is non "not playing the game."
  3. Nor can the inverse be proved, but you have seemingly made that conclusion.
  4. And that evidence has no meaning withing the four walls of the clubhouse.
  5. But the hometown crowd can put such pressure on a team that it can ruin the team's entire season.
  6. I got what you were saying. My response is that this (clutch v. non-clutch) is not an exact science. Let's try not to make so, because it isn't.
  7. I still think it is racial.
  8. It would not be enough to make an argument for being clutch.
  9. Also let's not forget what Yaz did in September 1967 when he put the team on his back with the best stretch drive that any player has ever had.
  10. I don't think the home town fans have ever ruined its team's season. The Red Sox almost always have a significantly better home record. And I also think that clutch is just the absence of choke in big spots.
  11. Just like the concept of "Clutch"
  12. It makes me chuckle that the same people who vehemently argue against the existence of "clutch" players also believe that an entire teams' performance can be crushed by their home fans. Inconsistent and absurd.
  13. Give me 7 Papi's and 2 Ricky Hendersons and you would win 100 games every year with me pitching.
  14. Ridiculously absurd. Do you watch or go to games. The fans have always been extremely supportive of Red Sox players with rare exceptions. The press and media can be tough for players, but they shouldn't be confused with the fan-base. Also, for someone who argues against the existence of clutch players, it is funny to me that you are making the argument that fan sentiment has the possibility of ruining the season for an entire team. That notion is absurd.
  15. There is no Jose bird.
  16. "Rise above the fans" How absurd.
  17. Pablo wants first crack at the buffets.
  18. Trading prospects is also a cost.
  19. If the market will not bear $30 million for ace pitchers, then Price will not opt out.
  20. I already addressed this, and said that I disagree that the $30 million "would go a long way in replacing him, a closer and another high need area", and I disagree with that. I am not sure that it would even replace the ace. I accept that you meant it in context with the Luxury cap discussion so that would add another $30 million. but that context was not in that post at all. And I did not take anything out of context or misread what you wrote. As usual, I was spot on.
  21. Well, if Groome will be the new ace in 2 years to replace Price -- a big IF, the $30 million would be redeployed for other need, but that is not what Moon said.
