    I never understood the whole A.J. hate stuff. I am not sure what the issue is that rubs people the wrong way. He has been strapping on the gear and doing a solid job as a catcher for a looong time.

    I thought I had read that every spring his elbow flares up at the beginning of Camp and then calms down. Hopefully, it doesn't flare up again until next year.

    I travel and miss looking at the board for one day and I come back to see this! Good grief!

    So far we have commitments from only 5 teams: MVP U.N. iortiz Thunder A700Hitter I still have not heard from 3 of last years teams that were invited back. If I don't get 3 more teams-- preferably 5 by Sunday, we will probably have to cancel the league. That would be break a long string of seasons where TalkSox has had a Fantasy league. Please drop me a PM if you want to join the league. If you have already been invited, please join.

    The difference being that if they don't make their own TV's, they have been under trade restrictions for 60 years, which is why they drive 1950's automobiles. I was just wondering about life in Cuba.

    No habla. Does yhis mean that they make their own HDTV's?

    I am being only slightly silly. I do wonder if they have HDTV. I am pretty sure that they don't manufacture them on the island. If they import state of the art electronics from Asia, why wouldn't they also import Japanese and Korean cars? I suspect that their TV's are as retro as their cars. My point isn't that this would make the WBC less exciting to them. It is probably more exciting to them, since there aren't a lot of luxuries on the island.

    I can't speak to the health f his arm, but I thought that he looked pretty solid for a bottom of the rotation guy.

    Are some of the games played in the DR? If so, how accessible is it to the poor kids? Aren't MLB games are free on TV in the DR too?

    I really don't see the value of it leading to a bigger pool of players. I am also wondering just how accessible it is to the poorer classes in some of those countries.

    Honestly, I don't see how this tournament benefits MLB. Yes, it is nice for the other countries, but MLB doesn't need the advertising.

Rutledge/Hernandez/Swihart Unless injuries hit us during Spring Training, 21 of the 25 roster spots are locked down. The last 3 pitching spots will come down to 5 pitchers. The last bench spot will be up for grabs by 3 players. It is possible that management will determine that 6 starters are too any and they send ERod or Pomeranz to the minors initially. That would leave 4 pen spots up for grabs by 5 pitchers. There aren't a lot of roster decisions to be made.
