    It looks like he responded positively to the pressure from Marco Hernandez.

    Karlos has joined. We have 12 teams which should make the draft very competitive. The draft order will be randomly selected half an hour before the draft. The draft is scheduled for 7 pm.

    The Rutledge situation is confusing. DD lets him go. He signs elsewhere as a FA. His new team leaves him unprotected and DD claims him with Rule V. He comes with limitations attached in that he has to stay on the ML roster all year long or he can be reclaimed by the other team. Is there a reason why DD, didn't just sign him instead of doing it this way?

    The draft will be held on Sunday. Two invitations are outstanding. Gringo has an invitation waiting to be accepted and iortiz's friend Karlos also has an invitation. That will bring the league to 12 teams. That should make the draft a lot of fun.

    Marco Hernandez is lining the ball all over the field. If he continues slashing like this, maybe he will beat out Pablo as a starter. It would be funny if he lost the starting job 2 years in a row. Pablo could sit on the bench and be the first one on line for the buffet spread.

    I was also wondering about whether he had come up with a new pitch. A few years ago, Rich Hill started spinning his curve ball more and it made a big difference. I haven't read anything about him working on a new pitch. Some of his success has been due to pitching against nonstarters -- weak lineups.

    The Mets owners have still not recovered financially from the Madoff involvement. They weren't making money for a few years as their attendance fell. They were very lucky that they had a crop of young homegrown pitching studs to salvage the franchise.

    Craig also hit a HR. On a prior Red Sox broadcast, they were talking about how he is driving the ball again. I had assumed the organization was trying to pump up his value to generate some trade interest, but after watching a few games, I have to agree. He looks like a different guy from what we have seen over the last 2 seasons.

    I opened up a spot for Jose and re-sent the invitation. He might have had trouble trying to sign up, but he should be able to sign up now. Hugo has already signed up his team. Do you have a 3rd friend who wants to join.

    Agreed. I found nothing crazy or bizarre about his responses as the author characterized it.

    There may be more to be concerned with about David Price than just his elbow. After reading the article, I don't find Price's replies as disturbing as the author does. Also, I don't agree with the authors concern that Price's contract could rival Carl Crawford's as a bust. Price did far more in 2016 than Crawford did over the life of his contract.

    Great! If you have 2 friends, that would bring the league to 10 teams. I will send them both invitations tonight.

    We have 8 confirmed teams, so we will have a TalkSox league again in 2017. I am still working on getting 2 more teams. I have not heard back from Palodios who has participated the last few years. Also, Southpaw777 had expressed interest in joining and he was invited, but he has not confirmed. If we only have 8 teams, each team will have a lot of talent. One option to increase the degree of difficulty would be to convert the league into an AL Only league. What do you think? Depending on whether we have 8 or 10 teams the payout structure will differ. I will announce that before the draft.

    He has more credibility on injury issues than anyone else on this board.

    ^ mph is nothing to sneeze at especially when you have a hellacious slider to go with it. You are nitpicking.

    Not that long ago MLB had to make two $25 million loans to the Mets just to meet payroll after they moved into their new ballpark. They were having trouble making payroll. MLB might have let them go under but they had crisis with the LA Dodgers ownership at the same time.
