  1. The wiggle room has to be significant enough to justify $5 million in salaries and benefits.
  2. He hasn't pitched in the majors since 2013 and he only appeared in 2 games that year.
  3. I didn't think that Farrell's handling of the Pomeranz situation would sit well with the clubhouse.
  4. They sent him back to the minors. That experiment was a bust.
  5. Can they score for Sale?
  6. He has an odd hitch in his swing on the balls that go to RF. Those hits do not have a lot of velocity. When he pulls the ball, his swing is smooth and the ball pops off his bat.
  7. Ervin Santana shutout the O's on 2 hits tonight. He has been having an excellent season.
  8. LOL!! But do they realize what conclusion they are coming to when they take these positions?
  9. Another inning with runners all over the bases and the middle of the lineup batting. It is time to mess up on the bases.
  10. Another BS seeing eye hit -- this one a double. Porcello is having s*** luck tonight.
  11. Benintendi flopping around like a seal.
  12. That is unfortunate for him.
  13. Keep the pressure on!
  14. Back to back hits. Good start to the inning.
  15. The Ball is carrying tonight. Porcello got burned on the swinging bunt.
  16. I think that he is pitching very well. He got a big DP ball that inning. Great play by Pedroia on the dribbler for the 3rd out.
  17. I don't think he got on him. He just can't explain the power outage.
  18. If he gives up 1 or 0 HRs we win. Last year, my bogey on HRs was 2 or less, but not with this year's offense.
  19. I agree, but there is this school of thought that lineups, game decisions and base running and fielding coaching don't matter. I think those things are important, but if they are right, I don't see managers having a huge impact on clubhouse chemistry. Also, the clubs have travel secretaries and press secretaries. Why would a manger be needed?
  20. I think a manager's impact on clubhouse chemistry is greatly overstated. If that is the biggest part of their job, just hire a Hall monitor, and fire all the managers. Lineups don't matter. In game management has very little to no impact. First and third base coaches have nothing to do with stupid base running or fielding as that is all learned at levels below the majors. Every team employs a Press Secretary, so we don't need a manager to interact with the press. Managers and coaching staffs are clearly unnecessary appendages -- anachronisms. Fire them and save a few million in salaries and benefits.
  21. Has he played any 3B?
  22. They sent down Velasquez.
  23. This is about the time when Porcello kicked it into gear last season.
  24. I would prefer a forfeit to save the Bullpen.
  25. It had been on MLB.com probable pitchers, but I just looked and now they have both Saturday and Sunday listed as TBD.
