  1. Farrell's job was saved by the cancer diagnosis in 2015. On his way to his second straight last place finish, his head was on the chopping block. When I heard that there was a big news story about Farrell, I just assumed that he had been fired. But for the cancer, I still believe that Farrell would have been terminated and Lovullo installed.
  2. I would hope that you would be right, but I don't share your confidence on this issue. Anyway, hopefully we pay well enough that it doesn't become an issue.
  3. And the whole while Crawford had a damaged wrist and elbow, but we confirmed that he did not go clubbing.
  4. LOL!! High tech. The FO will pour over his stats, but give him a half assed medical exam. Just a bit stupid. It would be like all the engineers inspecting a plane and clearing it for proper maintenance, but forgetting to gas it up.
  5. Oh yeah, he was a complete bust and a dog.
  6. It would be better just to forfeit the game than to give Kendrick another start. At least, that would rest the bullpen.
  7. That is because it doesn't take you very long to spot stupid. A lot of people gave him a pass for that and everything else. It was upsetting to watch 2 of those starting pitchers win a World Series for the Cubs when a competent GM would have kept them on the Red Sox.
  8. Sale is pitching on Wednesday, Pom on Thurs, ERod on Friday and Kendrick gets another chance to forfeit a game on Saturday.
  9. At what point did you want Ben & Cherries out?
  10. Does our crack medical staff bear any responsibility?
  11. Has there been any confirmation whether Pablow will return on Tuesday?
  12. Evil ex-wife is redundant .... no?
  13. Jacko is ready to prep him for surgery.
  14. I appreciate all the drilling into the numbers for clues and the conclusions that things will turn around unless the dreaded "enigma" rears its head. However, there is an element that gets overlooked and I don't know if it is quantifiable. That is that good teams figure out a way to win games and bad teams find new ways to lose games.
  15. This ESPN Sunday Night announcing crew is insufferable. If you replaced them with 3 rocks, the intelligence in the booth would not go down a tick.
  16. Earlier in the week, the Giants played a 15 or 16 inning game and by the end it looked like there were more Seagulls at the stadium than fans. I stopped watching because it became very annoying and distracting that the Gulls were flying in front of the center field camera.
  17. Is Farrell going to send ERod out for the 9th? I would.
  18. He's a .756 career OPS guy. That doesn't excite me for a first baseman.
  19. It is astonishing how few runs we have put up against a team that has made so many errors in this series.
  20. The A's have 4 errors today. They are awful. How have the Red Sox lost 3 games to them?
  21. Run Mookie that is fine. He should always have the green light, but we have some slugs. Running into outs on the bases is not the best way to produce runs.
  22. Excellent instincts by Mookie. Unfortunately, Farrell's instincts suck. We would have a nice 1 out rally going here, but Farrell killed it.
  23. Why is Farrell running slow-assed Pedroia?
  24. Daring base running by Mookie today, but very smart base running. There wasn't a play made on him in either instance.
  25. A's already have 3 errors and the Red Sox cannot get more than 2 runs. Need to capitalize.
