I'll take the year that he had last year every year of his contract. It was a strong season. The contract opt out is a lose lose for the Red Sox. If he is pitching like an ace and opts out, it will cost an equal amount or more to replace him. If he is stinking, he won't opt out and we are stuck with a lousy contract. I hadn't heard about the Eck confrontation. Price needs to grow up.

I don't think it will be much of an issue with the time bomb that he has for an elbow. I would be surprised if any team would top his remaining package with Boston, but then agai, it wouldn't be the first time that an agent misjudged the market.

He's a AAAA with no future on the Red Sox and he has the luxury tax/40 man roster issue hanging around his neck. No other team is going to pay his salary. I think that it inevitable that the Red Sox release him before his contract is up. Also, he's 30 years old.

Red Sox finally put Allen Craig out of his misery. This should have been done a year ago. Castillo will eventually meet the same fate.

Price had a nice outing -- 7 innings is what we need from him. If we get 7 regularly from him and Sale and the others can go 6 innings most nights, we should win a lot of games. -
Thornburg is done for the year and part of next season.

He is stinking. He won the Cy Young award last year and he is pitching to a 5 ERA and 1.50 WHIP up .5 from last year. He needs to pitch like a top of the rotation pitcher with a weakened offense. He gets paid $21 million a year. He needs to earn it.

Porcello was garbage once again. The team is having trouble scoring runs. He can't be pitching to a 5.50 ERA. We aren't going to win too many games of his with that. -
