    That hasn’t held true recently. I was complimentary of his last start and he had an even better start this time without any criticism from me. Let’s hope that he has found what he had in 2021 and that it continues.

    When Pivetta is going like tonight, you have to stick with him. He has been in a good groove his last 2 starts. The third time through the order means nothing when he is in that zone. When he wheels come off, he starts to walk people and he loses his release point. That’s when Cora has to take things batter to batter with him.

    Good move by Cora sticking with Pivetta in the 7th. He is on a roll. It would have been idiotic to take him out because of stats for the third time through the order. He is in a zone tonight. His delivery and release points are perfect and he is commanding his pitches.

    This is not a small market team. Value is different for the Red Sox. They have plenty of money and the highest priced tickets in the game. They need to retain the premium talent that they develop. This is not Tampa. The Red Sox should have had a core of Betts, Bogey and Devers well into the future.

    And they can’t continue to ride with 1B producing nothing and Kike hitting .150. These guys are not Manny and Ortiz slumping who you knew would break out and do major damage. Dalbec, Cordero and Arroyo are nobodies and Kike has always been a .250 hitting utility player. It is time to find a couple of bats. These guys are in the midst of lost seasons.
