  1. Bloom doesn’t want to look stupid for giving him a 2 year extension. He will look dumber if they keep trotting him out there.
  2. This game is Barnes-proof.
  3. Our hitters have heated up, but so are hitters on other teams. Our pitchers ERAs are bound to go up. Will they be better than league average, or will they be exposed?
  4. In 2018, he hit 36 HRs and had an .897 OPS. He had a very consistently excellent career until 2019. I think he is worth a 1 or 2 week trial.
  5. How has Bogaerts been hitting since his collision with Dugo when he hurt his left elbow?
  6. They have no track record to know what fixed looks like. This may be them fixed. Matt Carpenter was an All Star.
  7. Maybe Carpenter has nothing left, but even as an empty shell, he isn’t much worse than our guys. If he has managed to fix himself, he is much better than them. He would be worth a week long trial.
  8. Story is red hot. Pedroia used to get hot like this, but not with this power.
  9. And that is a major improvement.
  10. The Yankees pick up Matt Carpenter today and he scored a run in the 6th inning to put the Yanks ahead of Tampa. Could he be worse than our pathetic 1B platoon?
  11. Betts with HR #12 tonight.
  12. If you want to free Bloom from blame, go ahead, but someone made the mistake, and the same cast of characters are still in place.
  13. Mookie hit his 11th HR tonight. He is an elite generational talent and Bloom traded him. Hopefully, he doesn’t make the same mistake with Devers.
  14. That was unexpected and thrilling!
  15. The Red Sox continue to lead the league in blown saves. The need to get a lock down closer. They can’t let games like this slip away.
  16. Has that studio in RF been opened since the beginning of the season? I didn’t notice it when I went to a game against the Angels.
  17. Every time Arroyo seems to be on the roster bubble he comes up big.
  18. Story is carrying the offense the last 2 nights.
  19. Many though that Papi’s bat ha don’t slowed during one of his rare prolonged slumps, and he went on to tear up MLB pitching for about 5 more years. Pitchers and defenses had adjusted to Papi, and it took him a while to adjust back — he started going the other way. JD is constantly adjusting to keep ahead of the pitchers and over the last 7 seasons (excluding 2020) his results are up there in an elite class of performers.
  20. Hopefully, Wacha is healthy and continues his resurgence.
  21. More meatballs being served by Brasier.
  22. That hasn’t held true recently. I was complimentary of his last start and he had an even better start this time without any criticism from me. Let’s hope that he has found what he had in 2021 and that it continues.
  23. When Pivetta is going like tonight, you have to stick with him. He has been in a good groove his last 2 starts. The third time through the order means nothing when he is in that zone. When he wheels come off, he starts to walk people and he loses his release point. That’s when Cora has to take things batter to batter with him.
