    I agree. There is nothing to be gained except by the player who gets paid an inflated salary for some of the years when they would be under club control.

    with MLB extra innings I watch lots of different broadcasts. He is an excellent analyst. He doesn't have pet peeves that he beats to death, and he doesn't try to explain and analyze minutiae. He finds the right balance and always gives relevant insight into what is going on.

    Yes, that is unfortunate. But he has to be more movable than Pablo was.

    With his balky knee, I don't think we can count on Pedroia for 150 games even under ideal circumstances. Bogey's inability to handle a slider, he may need to sit from time to time. Devers may not be able to handle 3B defensively full time. If we sign or trade for a big 1B bat, I would rather move Hanley and keep Nunez who brings more value and versatility.

    I thought he still had a play at 1B after the double clutch. He tried to force the play and that is never a good idea.
