  1. Sale giving up the Porcellos
  2. Salty talking about how his mentors were "detrimental" to his development. I think he might just be managerial material.
  3. I thought Tampa was pretty much unscathed by Irma.
  4. Which is why I would think that a 3 contract would be the limit.
  5. Eck is okay with it. He doesn't dislike Price. Price might be a dick, but I think that there are more players like that than anyone wants to believe. If they perform between the white lines, that is good enough for me not to dislike them.
  6. I really can't remember any very negative fan reaction directed at Price.
  7. We should have traded Swihart once it became obvious that we were going to move ahead with the superior defensive player. He still had good trade value. Now, he is just a busted asset.
  8. As I said, I disagree with those forecasts. I don't think they are so well positioned long term and I would expect some of that long term capital will be exchanged for short term assets anyway. Saying anything positive about the Yankees' future (everyone's future is highly speculative) is just dumb imo. I can acknowledge when they play well and beat us and tip my hat to them (but never call them "My Daddy"), but I would never say that their long term future is brighter than ours, unless we rehire Ben Cherington.
  9. And that the mere mention of their name causes involuntary physiological responses.
  10. Unless he can find his sinker, his stuff is very ordinary and he doesn't have pinpoint command. He needs a lot of run support to be successful.
  11. His game has reached a new level in the last 3 years. This year has the best of the 3 seasons, but I think it would be safe to assume that he will be a .760 OPS guy with 25-30 steals as a low baseline. 81 games at Fenway might pop him up to an .800 OPS.
  12. Is he disliked? I have never heard him get booed.
  13. It depends on full tear or partial tear. Nolan Ryan's healed.
  14. That doesn't make me want to be in the position of the Yankees -- long or short term.
  15. They will need to make some big acquisitions including for starting pitching for me to envy them even in the "long term." But that remains to be seen.
  16. Just my opinion. I am not buying the Yankee future hype at all.
  17. I would go 3 years. I don't think he will attract many offers longer than that unless he wins World Series MVP.
  18. Or maybe like the Dodgers, they will cool off and that could come at a very bad time for them.
  19. He can rotate around the IF and DH without hurting us too much. Pedroia will need more regular rest and Nunez may not be a step down at 3B from Devers if he falters. He is a very solid offensive player that adds depth to the lineup.
  20. Guardians comeback and win # 22 in extra innings.
  21. Actually, I should have mentioned the last 3 years. While his OBP is up modestly, his OPS went up more than 100 points and is increasing.
  22. I thought the plan was for Remy to finish out the home stand. Was he just not up to going several games in a row? Hopefully, he gets his strength and health back.
