  1. It would be warranted to give Swihart a look. Vasquez and Leon are doing nothing thus far offensively and defensively, they are not looking like Pudge Rodriguez.
  2. Results are all that matters and he has gotten results in his career. His stuff looks substandard, but that knuckle curve is very effective when he is ahead in the count.
  3. I got both calls right with the naked eye aided by progrobifocs from my seat. The umps suck.
  4. Even with progressive bifocals, my eyes are still pretty good.
  5. Looked safe to naked eye.
  6. Tell Velasquez to be ready on the days Pom pitches.
  7. There was no chance for DP on Escobar, but Pom has to do a better job of covering first base.
  8. You don’t see a DP and a sac fly on the same play very often.
  9. I couldn’t see Devers.
  10. Couldn’t see play at 3rd. Was that a make able play?
  11. Pom, at 88/89 and cant locate the curve so far.
  12. Let’s go with the one with the correct date.
  13. Bradley is lost at the plate. He has no timing right now. He’s flailing like a blind man.
  14. The bats were cold, but the game was on the defense. They gave away the game.
  15. At the game mojo again. I hope it works today.
  16. Lin will go down when Pedroia returns, and it will be deserved.
  17. I’ll have to see more of him, but from what I have seen, he’s nowhere near the train wreck that Hanley was out there, and I ‘d take him over Holt or Swihart in the OF.
  18. That was my understanding of a catcher’s balk. It was a risk on intentional walks and why the catcher had to wait until the pitcher released the ball before he stepped out to receive the pitch.
  19. And Jeter after he had become a statue.
  20. I can take the physical errors, but the mental errors are killers. Vasquez pulled a couple of bad rocks tonight on the double steal and the catcher's balk. The catcher's balk was a new one for me. I had never seen one of those in person. I'm not sure that I have seen one on TV. I didn't even know what had happened. I thought maybe Smith hadn't come to the set position. The person next to me got the information on a phone call. We gave away a win tonight. We are a far superior team and lost a Sale start. That has to stop. Despite all the physical and mental errors, this team still fought back and almost won. That's the good news. We have to hope that this doesn't happen too often. If it starts becoming a pattern, it will be a coaching issue.
  21. What did the announcers say about that play? From where I was sitting, if Bogaerts took the throw coming toward the plate and immediately threw home, I think he would have nabbed the runner. Poor play by Bogey who I think was caught off guard, but a worse play by Vasquez.
  22. He isn't as good as the other 3 OFers, but imo JD is a good OFer. He was a gold glove finalist a few years back. People can scoff if they like about the award, but while the award may not go to the most deserving player at time, the award winners and finalists are usually good fielders. JD doesn't need to be replaced defensively. We could have used his bat after he was removed, and Mookie could have PH for Vasquez.
