  1. Ok. I can go with that.
  2. We will never know the back story of why Theo left. The only ill will that I hold against Theo is that he took some good people with him. I'd rather have had Hoyer as our GM than Ben, but then we wouldn't have gotten DD who brings winning and exciting moves. I think he will get us another new shiny toy this offseason. He is not the type to stand pat. I mentioned on here in July that Kennedy said in a private meeting that they were interested in Harper. I am not that guy's biggest fan, but I like him better than Machado. We probably will not get either of them, but DD thinks big and looks for impact guys, not just under the radar value plays. He also does the under the radar deals, as he did with Eovaldi (definitely worth Beeks) and Pearce. Who did he give up for Pearce? Barring devastating numerous injuries, I think DD will field another kick ass team.
  3. Hey, you are the one that characterized my initial post as "weird". Take some responsibility. I decided to f*** with you after that, but you can't get that. The sequence of posts has eluded you. LOL!
  4. Exactly, a one year deal would be a good get.
  5. I think that there is a good chance that they will all wait for Kimbrel to sign to set the market. I think that the high quantity of available closers will bring down the market, but the closer market has defied supply and demand in prior years.
  6. Or maybe the 2019 Red Sox team will be known as the Big Red Sox Machine.
  7. He is disaster. I don't have much confidence in him returning to what he once was. I'd be tempted to stick with Kimbrel who probably lowered his market value with his 2018 performance. I think that he really got off on the wrong footing in Spring Training missing most of it, because of his infant's severe life threatening health condition. I don't think that he ever got fully back on track from that. Even in an off-year, he is better than 9 out of 10 closers.
  8. You are so easy to troll, because everything is about you. You weren't the target of my post which was responded to by other with opinions rather than targeting me as "weird" as you did in your initial post and now as "petty and odd", which I find petty and odd. It is so easy to twist your small mind into knots.
  9. But yet you made yourself the target.
  10. He came to a last place team totally devoid of starting pitching or a closer.
  11. The outcome was never on doubt, except for the 20 or so pitched that Kimbrel would throw each game, and even then he was just raising our heart rates. It was a big tease. He almost always gets the job done one way or another.
  12. I would urge you to take a night off to enjoy and revel in the victory, but I realize that finding these stats and posting them is your enjoyment. I look forward to it.
  13. ”Technically” doesn’t work here because Eovaldi didn’t save the pen by saving who was left in the pen, I.e., Pom. He saved the guys who pitched before him, because Cora knew that he didn’t have to unduly extend those guys and burn them up for a game or 2. The confidence that Cora had that Eovaldi could give him an extended outing equivalent to a start allowed him to save the guys that pitched before him from going on fumes.
  14. Time to start the thread for the 2019 Hot Stove Season. By Friday, we expect that you will provide a full budget broken out by individual salaries and a listing of all Free Agent targets to address our biggest needs.
  15. You fit right in with the rest of us.
  16. I hope that this team has brightened your situation a little.
  17. It would be a blast to meet you. The last 2 springs I took in the games with Dewey. It has been a lot of fun.
  18. It really was mind boggling. It is hard enough for a manager to be on top of every inning of the entire season and process correctly the data and reconcile that with what he is seeing on the field to make the right in game decisions taking into account the long view of a 162 game season. In addition to that, very often the right decision rubs wrong one or more egos in the clubhouse when you have so much talent. He was masterful in getting his entire roster to buy into his program over the entire season. There was never a hint of strife in the clubhouse. That is extraordinary. I really don’t want to hear jack s*** about Kevin Cash. Cora is the best manager in baseball this season, and it is not even close.
  19. That’s a good one too. LOL!
  20. LOL! That’s a good one. Unfortunately, I am only “nominally” the King of TalkSox.
  21. It is surreal. I knew they would be a good team this year after they added JD, but the Yankees were getting all of the hype. I will be 60 years old I n 3 months and 2018 is the first time that I bought the full season ticket plan, and I still can’t believe that they had the best season in franchise history. I should have luck like this when I buy lottery tickets. LOL! Early on this season, it was apparent to me that this team did nothing but win. They won games using every aspect of the game. If they didn’t beat you with HRs, they beat you with singles, doubles and stolen bases and hit and runs, or they beat you with pitching and defense. Every day Cora was pushing the right buttons and they always figured out how to win (randomness be damned). I could see it in Spring Training. They did nothing but win there too with their starters or their minor leaguers. Yes, Spring Training doesn’t mean anything, but it seemed that winning was already becoming routine for this group. Dewey and I discussed this at Spring Training— that they seemed to win every day. When the season started, winning quickly became routine, and I never doubted that this was the best team in baseball. They never slumped, never looked undermanned in any aspect of the game, except middle relief, and they could never be counted out of any game until the last out. It was the most consistently enjoyable season for the full 7 months that we will ever witness.
  22. Any sentence that starts with “technically” never makes a good point.
  23. Intended Target 🎯 hit in the bullseye. LOL!
  24. He already said that he would not be opting out. So, we can put that to bed.
