1. You guys are the best mods. There is no doubt about that. You are a big part of why so many of us have come here for so many years. When I started posting here, Yeszir and Youk still had pimples. Your patience is a also big reason why so many of us are still allowed to post here. I vote that the salaries of the mods be doubled. I would decree the salary increase as King of TalkSox, but it is only a ceremonial self-anointed position. Thus, any decree would have no effect.
2. That is so great that you got to see the clinching game. I had that experience in Boston in 2013 -- game 6. It is such a great experience. Game 5 this year was much like game 6 in 2013 in that the Sox took the lead early and there really was no stress as the pitching just shut them down. It was almost as if we had the game in hand from the first inning. It is a once in a lifetime experience to see your team clinch a World Championship in person. Luckily for you the opponent was the Dodgers and not the Brewers as a trip to Milwaukee would have been much more difficult four you.
3. I am glad that you don't teach geography. Puerto Rico is not a country.
4. He's toast, and he can no longer do the one thing that made him valuable -- steal bases.
5. That would be great. I usually finalize my plans in the first week of December immediately after the ST tickets go on sale. Which World Series game(s) did you attend? It seemed like there were a lot of Red Sox fans at Dodgers Stadium.
6. I have to confess that I enjoy three consecutive Division championships and a World championship so much more than 3 last place finishes. Those were horrible summers. Three consecutive Division Championships has been really sweet. It is something that no Red Sox fan has seen, even if they are 100+ years old. That's a lot of winning and great baseball.
7. I can understand that they want night games during the weekdays to increase the TV audience, but I don't get the reason for weekend night games. Are they so afraid that college football and the NFL will eat into the ratings? I think that assumption might be mistaken, and the day games would help draw in young kids as fans. I understand greed in business, but stupid short-sighted greed disgusts me.
8. The games start too late and last too long. They have probably lost out on 2 generations of kids becoming fans as a result. Why not play afternoon games on Saturday and Sunday?
9. All that I have to say about the Dodgers is what Cora said about the Yankees, “suck on it!”
10. That was great! The hatred is coming back to the rivalry. I love it.
11. It’s official. He is not opting out.
12. he is a very good PH, but a terrible second half player.
13. I disagree. If he is worth more than his current contract, then the Red Sox hold an undervalued asset. Why would we want to lose an undervalued asset? If he is not worth his current contract, then he will not opt out. There is just no economic logic to hoping that he opts out.
14. But he has been pretty darn good during his tenure, and people have been rooting for an opt out since day 1. I never understood the logic.
15. But Theo got him back when he went to the Cubbies.
16. And he seems to be very happy with his team mates and manager.
17. Price in Boston in 480 IP in 3 years:

39 W 19 L .672 W% 3.74 ERA

And this is with losing almost a whole year to injury. I'll take it.
18. We just need to keep him away from Pablo in the offseason.
19. NY Yankee fans head will explode which would make it even sweeter. I get to watch it up close and personal.
20. New jersey sales!!
21. They have held onto Swihart for a long time. I have to believe that they have a plan for him, and there is no position for him other than catcher.
22. Let's hope so. I have little confidence that you can stick to your word.
23. Do we bring back both Vasquez and Leon? It would make sense to make room for Swihart.
24. We still have $18 million of Pablo hanging over our heads.
