  1. LOL! That’s a good one. Unfortunately, I am only “nominally” the King of TalkSox.
  2. It is surreal. I knew they would be a good team this year after they added JD, but the Yankees were getting all of the hype. I will be 60 years old I n 3 months and 2018 is the first time that I bought the full season ticket plan, and I still can’t believe that they had the best season in franchise history. I should have luck like this when I buy lottery tickets. LOL! Early on this season, it was apparent to me that this team did nothing but win. They won games using every aspect of the game. If they didn’t beat you with HRs, they beat you with singles, doubles and stolen bases and hit and runs, or they beat you with pitching and defense. Every day Cora was pushing the right buttons and they always figured out how to win (randomness be damned). I could see it in Spring Training. They did nothing but win there too with their starters or their minor leaguers. Yes, Spring Training doesn’t mean anything, but it seemed that winning was already becoming routine for this group. Dewey and I discussed this at Spring Training— that they seemed to win every day. When the season started, winning quickly became routine, and I never doubted that this was the best team in baseball. They never slumped, never looked undermanned in any aspect of the game, except middle relief, and they could never be counted out of any game until the last out. It was the most consistently enjoyable season for the full 7 months that we will ever witness.
  3. Any sentence that starts with “technically” never makes a good point.
  4. Intended Target 🎯 hit in the bullseye. LOL!
  5. He already said that he would not be opting out. So, we can put that to bed.
  6. Heads will explode in NY. The hate level is starting to rise in NY.
  7. I love the hatred part of the rivalry. Three consecutive division Championships including a World Championship is really starting to get under the skin of the Skankee fans big time. I love it.
  8. 2004 team barely played .500 for the first couple of months. Their first half was very flat and under-performing.
  9. ESPN is a failure of an organization.
  10. As soon as Dave signed David Price for the 2016 season, I purchased a weekday season ticket plan. When Dave added Chris Sale for 2017, I renewed my weekday plan. When he added JD for 2018, I upgraded to a full season plan. Each year he added the best available player -- Price, Sale and JD. The Red Sox have always had oodles of money, and this guy doesn't dick around looking for hidden value players like Pablo and Hanley.
  11. This team just beat you in so many ways -- and randomness played no role. They can pitch, run, hit and field -- the most well-rounded team in Red Sox history.
  12. Best Red Sox team ever without question. A group of true professionals who were willing to put individual egos aside for the team, and it wasn't just empty rhetoric. The season was 7 months of pleasure -- 8 including spring training.
  13. I am happy for Kinsler that his error didn't turn into disaster. I am happy for Brasier (a career bush leaguer) who finally got a break and performed like a veteran all star. There are just so many wonderful stories on this team. They have great stars, but what a supporting cast.
  14. We can finally put to bed the debate of Benny the Boob vs. Desperate Dave In 3 years, Dave has 3 consecutive Division championships (1st time ever for Boston), a World Championship and the best regular season record in franchise history 108 wins. In 4 years, Benny had a Division Championship and a World Championship and 3 last place finishes (not done since the 1930's) Decision to DD by a landslide. Case closed and put to rest permanently.
  15. JBJ is a dead-ringer for JBSR
  16. I am not one to throw compliments at managers. If you have been on this site for a few years, you know that. Even when we win, I don't hold them in high esteem, but this guy Cora is a special manager. His handling of the pitching staff (except for opening day LOL!!) has been great. The way that he used his starters in relief was something that no other Red Sox manager would have had the guts to do. Even if they had the guts, none of them could have gotten the starters to buy in. There is a lot of ego being a starter, and he had them anxious to pitch out of the pen. Just outstanding!!!
  17. I would have had Co-MVP's -- Pearce and Price.
  18. And Kelly and Holt and Nunez
  19. 11 Wins and a Championship!!!
  20. Destruction dished out by Sale!!!
  21. He is one of the only useful pitchers that he acquired.
  22. Looked like a strike on the curve.
