  1. Not yet. Give Terry time, and he'll do something incredibly stupid.
  2. I'm not blaming the kid. He did the best he could. Terry was expecting 5 innings and a win? I wasn't. If we lose this game, it 's just another game that Terry has gift-wrapped for the opposition.
  3. An organization like the Red Sox should not be in a position where they have to start a kid like this from AA. It should never happen.
  4. Being too nice to the pitchers is being an ******* as a manager. The kid was lucky to make it to the 4th with all the runners they had. He needed 3 crucial DP's to stay around.
  5. Terry and his stupid ********! The kid needed two more outs to qualify for the win. The outing had been successful, but the game is more important. If he was trying to nurse one more out of the kid fine, but not two more outs with the game on the line. He has really been an ******* with his pitching moves this year.
  6. This is stupid. Take him out. Win the game and give the kid another shot next week
  7. Go get the kid. The game is more important and tomorrow is an off day.
  8. WMP said that he had this injury last year. If he didn't do anything to break the bone this year and the bone has in fact been broken since last year would the Sox have any recourse against the Reds? It would be great if they could void the trade and get Arroyo back.
  9. We have way of finding out the Yankee score if we want to know it. We've asked you to stop it in the thread. Should n't that be enough.
  10. Really you are ruining the game thread with your antics. Enough already.
  11. Why is loretta out of the lineup?
  12. Knock it off with that garbage. How long are you going to drag that on?
  13. He needs to be suspended. He constantly ignores this rule solely with the sole purpose of being annoying.
  14. I believe that would be Steve Phillips.
  15. It could be just a habit he has got. I am not that familiar with his routines. Whenever I see a pitcher flexing the pitching arm, I always wonder if something is bothering him, especially the older guys or guys with arm troubles. D-Lowe on the other hand was always flexing everything, his arm his back. After a while, I came to realize that he was just a quirky guy.
  16. When Gagne was lights out, he stood head and shoulders above the rest of the closers, including Mo for that period. How was anyone to know that his arm would blow out. Your argument rings hollow. It seems that you are saying that Papelbon is not a lights out Mo-type closer because he hasn't done it for 10 years; therefore, he should be put into the starting rotation. You also seem to be arguing that there are many pitchers that can put up these fantastic dominant streaks as closers, but only for 1or 2 years. Is this what you are saying, because, I don't see the logic.
  17. I have been wondering about the quick hook, especially since Torre let him go out to start the 7th. I observed something as he left the mound after the 5th. I don't know if it is an RJ ritual. As he was walking off the mound, he was rotating his left shoulder. I f any of you have TIVO'd the game, check it out. Maybe he was a little stiff.
  18. This team plays into Clement's wild style, because they are very free swinging and will swing at lots of his pitches out of the zone.
  19. This team palys into Clement's wild style, because they are very free swinging and will swing at lots of his pitches out of the zone.
  20. Those other guys are good closers, but Papelbon is setting records. You can't say that he is not a Mo-type reliever because he has not done it for 10 -years. He is more of a Mo-type reliever now than Mo. The fact that he has not done it for 10 years is an irrelevant fact.
  21. I almost never use his name. I would think that you would realized that by now. I refer to him as PD short for Prima Dona.
  22. keep this in mind, Luis Sojo has more rings than PD.
  23. Yes we Red Sox fans tend to overvalue our 32-year old sure fire Hall of Fame players. BTW Manny will make the Hall on the strength of his tangible numbers. He will not have to depend on the sentimentality of writers that use trumped up excuses like Intangibles or rings.
  24. They are not pitchers. If you look around the major, many of the WBC pitchers have experienced arm troubles or unusual ineffectiveness.
  25. It is a business, so I don't know why that would upset you.
