  1. At least Bard could hit a little bit.
  2. That's why it is not unexpected that Wake gets little offensive support in this game.
  3. Let's hope we see some PH's next inning before it gets too late.
  4. I realize that, but Terry always seems to saddle Wake with a light-hitting lineup. I think WMP should have given the wrist a try tonight to get another bat in the order.
  5. It's no wonder that they have trouble putting up runs for Wakefield. He starts with an offensive downgrade with Mirabelli, then Terry often replaces another starter resulting in an inferior lineup. Tonight he is sitting out WMP in favor of Harris, so we are working with a 6 player lineup.
  6. The 1st 7 guys have hit the ball hard, and the righ side defense of the Yankees makes another blunder.
  7. How much of Johnson's career was during the dead-ball era? That probably helped his stat line.
  8. 19 games against KC will help their ERA's
  9. If all the pitchers from that ERA were in 5 man rotations and we assume that it would have lowered their ERA's, we don't know what effect that would have had on league ERA, because inferior pitchers would have been forced into the #5 hole. We can only go by the stats that are available and adjust them accordingly. Using what we have, Pedro is clearly the greatest pitcher in the last 40 years and probably of all-time.
  10. Can Sheffield hit the knuckler?
  11. No pitcher in history could compare to the Pedro from 1998 to 2000. He may not be the old Pedro, but he is still great.
  12. He is still a very important member of the bullpen. A two-man bullpen is not enough. A two man pen would burn out by the All Star break. They need quality outings from Foulke, Tavarez and even Seanez to keep Timlin and Papelbon fresh.
  13. Foulke has n't been getting regular work, and he needs to be sharp with his control in order to be effective.
  14. Foulke is pitching like he is drunk.
  15. Foulke not showing his A stuff with the big lead. Okay, Keith. It's time to end this.
  16. Typical ARod hitting a meaningless HR. You could just see that coming.
  17. An RBI for Harris? There's the blind squirrel theory again. Harris with a hit and SF and Cora with 3 hits is proof positive that Yankee pitching blows chunks.
  18. Lowell -- Mr. Doubles was almost thrown out at 2B. I also thought it was a HR.
  19. 99 pitches through 8. My guess is that he comes out for the 9th.
  20. Nice outing by Wang. 7 earned runs in 6 innings. Yes, he's the real deal.
  21. On a hot summer night, Manny's ball to right is in the bullpen.
  22. The Yankees should just walk Ortiz every time.
  23. Nice rope double by Youk to score Harris.
  24. Beautiful bunt! Balco man had no idea how to play that.
  25. OMG, even a blind squirrel ocassionally...
