  1. It's obvious that he has potential, but the staff needs something more than 5 inning efforts from its starters. The pen is getting worn out.
  2. Bottom of the 6th coming up. Lester will go 7, possibly 8 tonight. This will be a big help to the pen.
  3. Lester's pitch count in the 70's which is excellent.
  4. Congrats Capt. Varitek on catching the most games in Red Sox history.
  5. Top 6 for Lester.
  6. AGon with another clutch AB
  7. I think Varitek has looked a lot better the last few games. He may be getting in a groove.
  8. Here comes the bottom of the 5th. Lester's got a very good pitch count. He should be able to deep into the game.
  9. Top of the 5th 0-0
  10. Bottom of the 4th. Let's get some runs.
  11. So far Lester has kept his pitch count at a reasonable level.
  12. Welcome. Red Sox Nation is wherever Red Sox fans reside.
  13. The POS left on a high note. Good for him, but I'm not sorry to see him go.
  14. Another ocassion for senile Joe to blubber like a baby.
  15. No ARod tonight after his horror show last night. He's probably has double appointments with his 12 psychiatrists, or maybe he flew off for a follow-up mentoring session with Piniella.
  16. Even if they could pull a rabbit out of the hat and win the WC they are not at the same level as the Mets or even the Cards when healthy. The Braves GM knows this. Making the playoffs to go out in the first round is an old story for the Braves. I just don't see the Braves being anxious to keep a high-priced old player with a history of arm problems when he can use him to trade for prospects to build for the future.
  17. Overrated prima donna
  18. He's there most valuable commodity. I doubt they would do anything to risk his health.
  19. Because Theo is dead set against trying to win another WS?
  20. I was at the game tonight and have a couple of observations. Wakefield was in obvious discomfort that I think affected his delivery. Before the 4th inning, I think he only took about 3 warmups and he looked very uncomfortable. These mysterious back injuries have a way of lingering. If so, that could be very bad news. This heightens the necessity that the FO make a move to get a starter. Secondly, it's obvious that Youk is struggling and its time to put Coco back at the top of the order as he seems to finally be locked in at the plate.
  21. WEEI reports that Providence Journal has confirmed that the Dodgers have offered Odalis Perez to the Red Sox, but the Red Sox declined.
  22. No, but I think they'd be better off waiting for Clement and/or Wells.
  23. I'd love to see a poll of TalkSox members on whether a. acquiring Lidle is a big move, and b. whether taking Woody Williams would not be charity by the Sox.
  24. It's so freakin hot out that I'd be more than a little concerned if Wakefield can't get his back loose tonight.
  25. The Braves are a very bad team. Their GM should know that they will not be going anywhere, and it's better to move a player one year early than one year too late.
