In the meantime, Smoltz could blow out an elbow. It's not like Smoltz puts fannies in the seats. The smart move is to move him, because 39 year old pitchers don't fit with rebuilding. Of course, he will try to get max value for him, that's his job, and he will get what the market will bear. Once Shuerholtz decides that he needs to move Smoltz, he will go.
