  1. Keep sticking your head in the sand.
  2. Yes but we let our cornerstones--proven veterans and winners walk away. That was just stupid. We would not be arguing about trading the kids if the FO didn't f*** up by letting Pedro and Damon go. We would have traded Marte for some bull pen help, and we'd still have the future with all the young arms. The yanks don't let their guys walk. The White Sox didn't let their guys walk. We let our guys walk like they were fungible goods. The FO is a bunch of lying *******s that talked the talk about winning several championships and within two years of winning it all they will manage to put together a team that will not even make the playoffs. You can delude yourself that the futre is bright, what is our rotation going to be next year. Schilling at age 40, Beckett, Lester (still largely unproven) and Wakefield ( a 40yr old knuckleballer) and ...who? Wells will be gone. Clement is a loser, head case deluxe. Who? The FA market is nothing great this year. Our RF they will let walk for Wily K King Pena. They will probably also let either or both Gonzalez and Loretta walk for who Peroia? Yeah, this franchise is going in the right direction. Sure. What's going in the right direction are the profits for the sold out ballpark every night. Who will be the 4th OF next year. Kapler the hitting machine? BTW Damon hit his 15th today. His decline has been precipitous, hasn't it. Pedro still has a winning % of about .700 since he left. He clearly can no longer produce. There's no room in our rotation for a dinosaur like a Pedro, who keeps winning games at a .700 clip. None whatsoever.
  3. On July 2nd we finished a tremendous winning streak against the NL. It was after that the team cooled off, just about a month, and our arrow is headed down while the yankees Gee, walkoff HR by the s***** Rays that don't have Lugo, Wiggington or Huff. I wonder why I am not optimistic about this team.
  4. I hope Manny hits a three run jack, because one or two may not be enough with who is left in our pen.
  5. Two games in the loss column, possibly 3 after today. Our arrow is pointing down and theirs is pointing up.
  6. Perhaps the Yankees know something we don't.
  7. Yeah, I've been on the same bandwagon for 39 years, *******. Where were you 39 years ago?
  8. I'm not a glass half full type of guy if you haven't noticed, but I am most assuredly a DieHard Red Sox fan. A win in this game is important, but it would be another Houdini escape, and not the kind of win that will make the team feel good about itself, since they had it in the bag and let it slip away. If this game goes another couple of inning and the Red Sox lose it will be a devastating loss for team confidence.
  9. It is a slump considering that we are losing to crappy teams.
  10. CAntu should just end the game and the suffering. s***!! He makes out. More suffering.
  11. We need to be pulling ahead of the White Sox in this stretch of easy game, not just keeping pace. We will be 5 games out of the WC by the end of the month. EDIT: The White Sox did the right thing as defending champs. They re-signed the players that made them Champions. And I don't want to hear about Konerko's hometown discount. He is overpaid and for too long a contract. There are more first basemen available as replacements than top starting pitchers or CF's.
  12. We are toast. Paps has to hold'em in the 9th and then we have to score in the 10th and hpe Tavarez or Seanez can hold them down.:thumbdown
  13. Sheffield has been replaced by Abreu since you haven't noticed. He hit and steals bases. Melky is Young and Wang is emerging as an ace. They will beat our asses this year and next year. They don't play "WIN THIS YEAR OR BUST!!!!" They play to win "EVERY YEAR" while our FO office is always playing for next year like losers do. That's not acceptable for a team with the financiial resources and fan base of the Red Sox.
  14. Bottom of the order coming up. Home teams always have the advantage in tie stituations this late in the game.
  15. Good game by the Pen !!!!!!! JJ's career best losing % is safe.
  16. Which is why he should have stayed with the sinkerballer in a groove for one more inning or at least batter to batter in the 7th, unless JJ said he was gassed. I don't think that was the case. It's a climate controlled dome and he really wasn't laboring at all.
  17. Torre bringing Mo in for the cheapie save. Torre's such a whore. I hope they make Mo work in the 9th for about 30 pitches.
  18. Youk blew that play. He's been better than expected at 1st, but he is the weak link of the IF, but it is a very strong IF.
  19. Millar is up with one out and 1st and 2nd. He should K or DP. Edit: Long Fly Out. He leaves it up to no-name Markakis against Mo.
  20. Well it worked out just fine. The guy was in a groove. He should've sent him out and gone batter to batter. If the first guy gets on, he's out of the game. Maybe he goes 1,2,3. Even if he only got 1 or 2, it would have been helpful. In the dog days the pen can use all the rest it can get. There was no reason to start emptying the pen at the beginning of the 7th.
  21. I don't agree that we should be burning up the 7th inning with MDC. JJ was in a groove. Terry should have ridden him for another inning. The pen can use the rest.
  22. Yeah, competing for second place behind the Yankees for the next 10 years. That's always pleasant. You've got to bury the Yankees when you have the opportunity, and you don't get the opportunity that often. With the Yankees' injuries and aging team, this is one of those years. Theo let the opportunity slip by. Never mind trading "all of our prospects," he didn't make any smaller deals to help the team. You always state everything in the extreme. My wanting the FO to do something to help put a foot on the throats of the Yankees is translated by you to mean trading all of our prospects and decimating the organization for years. Is everything an extereme with you? It is a very immature trait.
  23. He looks like some sort of sissy in his fragrance adds. He must be catching some s*** about that in his clubhouse.
  24. KC is winning early 4 - 1 aqgainst the Twins. Do you think that Corky might be JJ's personal catcher?
