I'm not a glass half full type of guy if you haven't noticed, but I am most assuredly a DieHard Red Sox fan. A win in this game is important, but it would be another Houdini escape, and not the kind of win that will make the team feel good about itself, since they had it in the bag and let it slip away. If this game goes another couple of inning and the Red Sox lose it will be a devastating loss for team confidence.

We need to be pulling ahead of the White Sox in this stretch of easy game, not just keeping pace. We will be 5 games out of the WC by the end of the month. EDIT: The White Sox did the right thing as defending champs. They re-signed the players that made them Champions. And I don't want to hear about Konerko's hometown discount. He is overpaid and for too long a contract. There are more first basemen available as replacements than top starting pitchers or CF's.

Sheffield has been replaced by Abreu since you haven't noticed. He hit and steals bases. Melky is Young and Wang is emerging as an ace. They will beat our asses this year and next year. They don't play "WIN THIS YEAR OR BUST!!!!" They play to win "EVERY YEAR" while our FO office is always playing for next year like losers do. That's not acceptable for a team with the financiial resources and fan base of the Red Sox.
