  1. Yankees losing only 6-3. Fasano with a two-run two strike double. It may not be a great night afterall. The freakin Yankees keep finding a way to win.
  2. wells gets the first two out to start the inning. This guy is getting one in the ribs-- first pitch Edit: I'm shocked. Did he dust anyone when I stepped away?
  3. I can't find the White Sox - Tigers game on Directv's MLB package tonight. Does anyone know if Directv is carrying that game?
  4. If he can put up wins in the NL, he can put them up in the AL. His ERA might go higher, but all AL pitchers have to face the same hitters. The hitting might be better in the AL than the NL, but in each league the pitchers have a level playing field with regard to the pitchers in that league. As a proven big winner in the NL, he'd find a way to put up W's in the AL.
  5. That'll leave a mark on Mora.
  6. I love his .667 career winning percentage. I want guys on the team that know how to put up W's. Usually, then can lose something off there ball and still be big winners like Schilling, Pedro etc.
  7. Sidney Fatsone is in for the Yankees and he gave up a two run double to Cabrera.
  8. Whoooo Hoooo! 7-0. This is Red Sox hitting. Conine really botched that ball.
  9. Javy can still swing the bat a little.
  10. Lowell showed me something staying in the game after taking a shot like that. You know the trainer probably wanted to take him out of the game just for observation. Lowell knows this series is important to reverse the direction of this team, and he wanted to stay in the game. Boomer is going to give it to one of their guys in the ribs, hopefully with 2 out and no one on.
  11. Two out hits don't hurt nearly as bad when you haven't walked two or three guys.
  12. Check the threads. I haven't been a big opponent of this trade. Sure we could've used a pitcher in our rotation, but criticizing this trade has not been one of my pet peeves. Here a my major issues in order. Everyone says they are sick of them, but apparently I must repeat them because my positions are continuously misrepresented: 1. Damon and Pedro should have been retained as they were part of the core foundation of the Championship team 2. The FO should have made some acquisitions to bolster the 2006 roster. If a blockbuster couldn't be made, lesser deals certainly had to be available.
  13. The FA crop of pitchers is not all that attractive this year. I'm not a big Zito fan.
  14. They are lucky that they are not 1-9 instead of 3-7.
  15. Welcome aboard. I hope you bring some luck to the Nation.
  16. Without Loretta getting on in front of manny and Ortiz, pitchers will work around them completely and the offense will go into total shutdown mode.
  17. You guys brought in seasoned reinforcements and major league ready prospects not just at the deadline, but all throughout the season. When the Sox needed help, they went trolling for garbage and they are getting what they deserve.
  18. Has Papelbon's chariot turned into a pumpkin? SUnday he gives up a tying HR to a piece of garbage. Tonight he gives up a big triple and a double. Are teams starting to figure him out? Is he getting tired and losing a little somethig? or is it poor pitch selction without Tek behind the plate?
  19. I haven't made a big deal of it either, but I think you are right.
  20. ...and I am hating myself right now because you are right, and I am like a hopeless addict.
  21. Teams do go into hitting slumps, but that's when the pitching on good teams step up. We don't have the horses on the hill. It's just that simple. That's the major reason why the Sox cannot get back into this thing.
  22. This has to be the lowest point in years for the Sox. Although they are not as bad as they have looked for the last week, I don't see them going on a winning streak to get them to the playoffs. In 2004 when they went on the winning streak, the starters went deep into games 7th inning and later during the entire streak. The key to that streak was good starting pitching. This team doesn't even have a reliable #2 that can regularly take the game into the late innings. The 3,4, and 5 slots give us 5 innings at best. Thanks for the starter Theo.
