  1. I am not sure. I think one them started.
  2. Hughes threw 14 pitches and Pavano threw 28 tonight. This could be like a key acquisition according to Michael Kay.
  3. Nevermind the stupid Cora debate. Lackey is eating our lunch.
  4. But the Red Sox don't have Molina as a back, so that's why we would miss Varitek if he got injured. You have Molina which is why you don't miss Posada. Duh!
  5. Pavano and Hughes each are pitching rehab outings tonight.
  6. Is the offense gonna do anything? We used to own Lackey.
  7. Manny for Kemp?:thumbdown Good for the future, but bad for this year.
  8. ...and maybe the best fly catcher in the al.
  9. You can be poor in a rich country. George Foreman grew up poor and hungry in Houston. He fought for money for food. In his autobiography "By George" he estimates (probably exaggerated) that he had a thousand street fights and that he was undefeated, of course. It doesn't matter what country you come from, kids that grow up poor usually grow up tough. You don't find too many privileged kids making a living in Boxing.
  10. Wow, the Yankees lose a career .270's hitter. Molina is a better receiver with a much better arm. No big loss.
  11. Crazy goes a long way in a fight, and no one is crazier than Youk. Joba is a big cream puff. Youk would squeeze the cream out of him. As for Farnsworth vs. Big Papi, Farnsworth had better know some martial arts to offset the immenseness of Ortiz who probably has 60 lbs on him. Some one said it earlier about Ortiz' upbringing in the DR. He was probably pretty poor and you get pretty tough if you have to fight for you food. I seem him crushing Farnsworth's larynx with one hand. Farnsworth has a bit of a chicken neck.
  12. I am not too excited about Ellsbury's 3 hits. Cora has 2 and Varitek has had some good hacks.
  13. Beckett is nothing to sneeze at. It's nice to have a righty and lefty ace and a #3 with 10-1 record with a sub 3 ERA.
  14. Can the pen be trusted with a 7 run lead for two innings before the ball is handed to Papelbon?
  15. Manny 3 hits and an out into the triangle. He's no longer an elite hitter. Nady is just as good. BTW that run blew my under bet.
  16. Ortiz hardly swung at that. I think the wrist is healthy.
  17. The others were all here from the 7th inning on on Friday. They deserted when they realized that Washburn would not be starting instead of Ponson. They are lurking like trolls waiting to appear during a Yankee rally. If ARod hit a wall ball in his last AB, you would have had plenty of company. At least you are not a troll.
  18. That's the best ball Varitek has hit in a while. Need a WP here.
  19. It looks like the Sox will need 3 innings from the bullpen tonight. Lester is at 88 pitchers. Who gets the work in the 7th and 8th?
  20. Articles and video spots have compared his production tp Adam LaRoche, Pat Burrell and many other good, but not great hitters.
  21. That was just plain stupid not sending Damon. He could have walked home. Nice work out by Lester. It was a rally of cheap hits and one walk.
  22. There have been lots of articles about how he is no longer the player that he once was and that the nonsense is no longer worth it. Okay kid. We need some outs.
  23. Usually Lester's pace is too deliberate, but his pace has been a bit too quick this inning, and the Yankees have been incredibly lucky.
