  1. I was at the game last night. He made a very nice running diving catch. He has thrown out a couple of runners too.
  2. He's not going anywhere. When Ellsbury and Cameron comeback, McDonald and Van Every get cut.
  3. But he has 3 triples... and on two bad knees.
  4. The book on McDonald is that he can hit lefties. He's not so good against righties.
  5. Large power hitters like Ortiz normally experience decreased production in their 30's. That's natural-- not a symptom of Roid use. What is not natural is increased power production in a player's 30's.
  6. Did Hughes have a high pitch count when he got lifted?
  7. I missed the game. Did Buccholz pitch at a faster tempo tonight? He got great results.
  8. The guys power outage may not have been a product of SafeCo, but rather due to the lack of Roids.
  9. I said it was a stinky lineup, and it was. I didn't say that the manager had lots of other options. Edit: My bad on reading the wrong stat line on Varitek, but he is still a stinky offensive player.
  10. More McDonald? Why did they bring up Van Every?
  11. First of all, I never mentioned Lowell or Beltre in my post explaining why the lineup was bad. I mentioned the following players: Varitek .666 OPS vs. lefties in 2009 Bill Hall .606 OPSD vs. lefties in 2009 McDonald--I didn't realize that McDonald had any career #'s worth citing. I also mentioned Scutaro, but unlike the other 3 , I did not have a problem with him being in the batting order, but rather I had a problem with him being in the leadoff spot. When our lineup is healthy, he is a nice 9th place hitter.
  12. What did he have to say after the game about his lack of velocity?
  13. I realize that you are kidding. But for those woh seriously think that was a good lineup here's the supporting stats: Bill Hall McDonald Varitek They all stink and they all were playing Scutaro was the leadoff guy. Sorry, but he's supposed to be #9 Missing: Ellsbury Vmart Ortiz It was a stinky lineup that faced horrible pitching.
  14. What a comfort having McDonald up in a key spot!
  15. I'd expect him to be as good as Varitek.
  16. That play by AGon was very Beltre-esque.
  17. So when are the Sox going to get their s*** together?
  18. Wells owns Beckett. Toronto owns him
  19. The problem is that they also have 3 DH's. If they can't play VMart at 1st, he has to play DH, but we have Lowell and Ortiz (at $25 million) at DH. I have said all along the logjam is at 1st, 3rd and DH. We have 5 guys for those 3 spots. There's not enough room, so VMart has to stay behind the plate and have the other 4 share the three spots. That's the problem. No Beltre, no logjam. no VMart behind the plate every day.
