    Old School Red Sox to me was a team that carried all of these OFers on the same roster: Yaz, Rice, Lynn, Evans, Carbo, Miller and Beniquez. That was old school. No one ran on those guys, and the OFers were never 7,8 and 9 in the batting order. Now the OF is Drew and a bunch of dreck.

    You kill me. You are not buying the excuse. I post that David Ortiz has built up goodwill with me, and you come back with you are not buying the excuse. Hmmm? It must be some reason that I don't want to disclose. Maybe I am David Ortiz's lover? Maybe I'm a racist and I'm rooting against the Dominican guy? Oh that's right, they are both Dominican and very similar shades of brown. That can't be it. Maybe I hate Right handed people and favor left handed people? But I am right handed and so is Papelbon, Pedroia, and Youkilis and they are all right handed. That can't be it. But you are not buying. I'm not asking you to buy, just stop.

    After three stupid things, yeah I was gonna get on him for giving to charity. The fact is that in addition to all of his other stupid plays and poor defense, his power output has been pathetically subpar. What excuse? It was an explanation. Rooting for a team is an emotional thing. I don't have to justify my criticisms, just explain them. Stop being a jerk.

    Gold gloves mean nothing. Ask an honest Mets fan what they think of David Wright's circus act at third base. He plays every ball off to his side, and lots of hits are credited on balls that are playable if he would get in front of the ball and knock it down. Beltre has a tendency to make those olay plays too. Tonight he played the ball off to the side and it cost us the game.

    VMart has a higher percentage of XBHs than Beltre and VMart is slumping badly. edit: And VMart is slow as hell. He has run at least 3 XBHs into singles.

    Ortiz still has some good will in the bank. Beltre has never built up any. If Ortiz is washed up, it will be sad to see him go. He gave a lot of thrills. I go to about 8 games a year at Fenway, and I have seen him hit three walk off HRs.

    Did I say that? Ortiz is in a pathetic slump that has many of us thinking that he is washed up. He's been benched for about one-third of the games, but yet he has more XBHs than our full time FA acquired gold glove third baseman. That's how pathetic Beltre's power output has been. I'm not arguing that Ortiz is doing better than Beltre.

    I think we need a couple of hot tempered young punks with no life experience and little knowledge.

    I almost never ascribe to Doji's plans. My plan would be VMart playing 1B on the days he doesn't catch with Youk sliding over to 3B and Tek catching. On the other days, Lowell plays 3B. Beltre would go for surgery to remove his head from his ass or get a brain transplant.

    It would be a big defensive upgrade at the catcher position. Also, let's not forget that lowell could take some time at 1st. Varitek would still be the part time catcher.

    In addition to all the errors and base running stupidity, of his 27 hits he only has 5 doubles. That is really pathetic.
