  1. Love that Dirty Water!!!! Keep it rolling boys!!
  2. Huge clutch K. We need one more out of any kind.
  3. VMart is a tremendous clutch hitter. Hopefully, he doesn't s*** all over our night.
  4. Major squander by the O's in the 11th inning against Boone Logan.
  5. Yes to the latter. People not watching the game will have no idea what I mean..., but f*** them.
  6. Salty is starting to grow on me. Gotta love that speed scoring from first base.
  7. I like Millwood much better than Dice K or Wakefield. Hopefully, he has something left.
  8. Let's hope that Buchholz doesn't land on the DL after all those pitches.
  9. I can sympathize with you. Over the last several years it seems like every time we make a weekend trip to Boston we would always see Wakefield in one of the games. It would piss us off. One time Wakefield hit some longevity milestone, I told my son that it was my fear that we would see Wakefield going for his 300 win when he old 65 yrs old and Mirabelli would be chasing 200 HRs at the same time. LOL! I feel your pain, and I agree that rolling him out to start for this team is an embarrassment. I'd rather see Oil Can Boyd pitch.
  10. The more accurate description would be that it will look "shittier". Pedro! Pedro! Pedro!
  11. Pedro wants to pitch for the Sox again.
  12. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2011/05/dice-k_to_dl_ac.html The back end of the rotation is looking pretty s*****.
  13. I hope the next time we see Wakfield start that it is an old-timers game.
  14. Being a Hall of Famer is like being pregnant. You either are or you are not. Posada is not and never will be.
  15. Munson was the Yankee Captain and #5 hitter who died tragically young in a plane crash and he didn't get in. There is no way Jorge gets in, none, nada, zilch.
  16. He was never a dominant player at his position for more than a couple of years. Comparing him statistically across eras doesn't hold up because of the steroid era, expansion etc. Thank Bud Selig. He was never more than very good, and that's not enough to get to the Hall. It just is not. If that were the case, I can think of a number of good catchers that had some very good years who should also be in.
  17. In 1997 he was the 9th place hitter. In 1998 he moved to the 8th spot. He had the #5 slot for 1 year (2002 or 3). He was the #6 hitters for about 4or 5 years, but the majority of his career was spent in the bottom third of the order. He probably batted 7th more than any other spot in the order. He was a bottom of the order hitter for the majority of his career. Those types of players don't go to the Hall of Fame, except as guests, unless they were insanely good fielders.
  18. I saw him play. He was a superstar in his day. I always feared him at the plate. For a big man, he was quite versatile in the field, playing third and first very adequately. A funny story about him was in an All Star he made this tremendous stretch to catch an infield throw to first. He did a full balls on the ground split. It was very impressive until he toppled over with a torn groin. At that point, many people were chuckling.
  19. If Hill has no options, Wakefield has to be the odd man out when lackey returns. They'll send out Atchinson and Oki first, but then the bell will toll for Wakefield.
  20. So we go with no lefties in the pen if Hill and Atchinson go now and Oki later? No lefties? I think they should keep Hill and send Wake into the sunset. Aceves gets the spot starts.
  21. Different eras Jacko. Munson and Howard hit in the middle of the line up for those Yankee teams. Posada hit mainly in the bottom third of the Yankee order for most of his career. Posada also had the benefit of playing in the steeroid . expansion era where the balls and players were juiced the fields were small and the pitching was thin. Comparing OPS is not comparable across those generations. Posadanever won an MVP. He never even came close. The other two guys were MVP caliber players, and they could play the position.
  22. After Aceves outing on Monday, who gets cut when Wheeler and Jenks come back? I think it should be Wakefield and Oki
