  1. Chavez=Old and injured-- not depth.
  2. But Francona will give him props for battling and keeping the team close into the late innings. f*** that. I don't think this guy will be on the active roster at the end of his contract.
  3. I'll be excited about it if we win and he plays well. Otherwise, I am disappointed that Lowrie is not playing tonight.
  4. I think the seond no-hitter was against the Brooklyn Dodgers in the first night game at Ebbetts Field.
  5. Johnny Vander Meer.
  6. Age and lack of depth.
  7. Does it really matter who was the captain of the Titanic?
  8. His innings are almost always meaningful, but the game is not always tied or a 1 run lead. A solo HR with a 2 run lead obviously would not be as big of a deal. Last night, he had no cushion. He has come up short 4 times in the in the first 5 weeks of the season. I'm sure that he is not happy with that.
  9. I think the Yankees offense will deteriorate over the course of the season.
  10. I don't know, but both he and Spud have been scarce around here since they met Heidi Watney while shopping. Any connection?
  11. I'm not saying he stinks or anything like that. He is a premier power arm, but that doesn't change the fact that he has failed on a number of occasions in the early part of the season. I think that will change, but last night he gets a big part of the blame.
  12. Unfortunately, he let this guy run into a fastball when the game was on the line and he had no margin for error. He didn't get it done. He's 0-3 in the early season and he cost us last night's game even though he didn't get the L. He's not getting it done. You can call it be unlucky if you want, but I don't buy that.
  13. Every team hits a rough stretch during the season. The Sox hit theirs right out of the gate. The are keeping it together and not letting it ruin the team psyche. They are quickly developing a sense of urgency and when they finally get on a roll, I expect that they will have some prolonged dominant streaks. Let the Yankees continue on their merry way with their aging team and retreads. The wheels will start to come off. When the wheels start to wobble, will they have what it takes to keep on course and will Cashman be able to bring in the necessary reinforcements? The s*** will start to hit the fan sooner or later. Colon could blow a fatty embolism at any moment.
  14. He gives up the first career HR to a .111 hitter.
  15. Freakin ridiculous.
  16. Why the big leg kick on the pitch out?
  17. Time for Pedroia to heat up.
  18. I wish we could re-do the first 7 games of the season.
  19. I don't think I'll wait up to hear the breakdown of Lester's start. In a nutshell, he walked a lot of guys, gave up too many bombs and generally sucked.
