  1. It killed us last year, and with our depleted bullpen this season, I would not expect a better result.
  2. I agree that we can hang with them if we have Clay, but not without him.
  3. If Buchholz can't rebound to pre-injury form, this team is going nowhere. I just don't think they can withstand Buchholz not rebounding.
  4. Some people don't want to acknowledge that Phil Highes has had more success at the Major League level than Buchholz has had. Hughes had an All Star season as a starter and he was also a dominant short reliever for one season. Buchholz similarly had one successful season as a starter, but he was not a successful bull pen pitcher. The difference between the two organizations is that a successful season in 2012 by Hughes is not a necessity for the Yankees. It would be a nice to have. On the other hand, a big 2012 season from Buchholz is expected and necessary for Red Sox success. I don't think it is unrealistic that Buchholz will have a big season, but it is far from a given. There is a huge question mark attached.
  5. Some good news about Ellsbury's progress:
  6. Tomorrow is D'-Day for Aaron Cook. I don't see how they can let him walk. He would be a good long option for Bobby V if a starter gets into trouble. With Cook, Tazawa, Padilla and Atchinson in the Pen, hopefully the 7 run rule is a thing of the past. Each of those guys can go multiple innings.
  7. I would never trade an every day player and middle of the lineup hitter for a reliever. That is not sane.
  8. The Abreu move would be a no-brainer. Cherries get off your ass and sign this guy and DFA DMac.
  9. Troll prevention.
  10. He did throw very well in the first half of 2011, but he has looked like crap since then. His ERA right now is based on a very small sample size.
  11. Picking him up would cost nothing more than the waiver price... right? Seems like a great low cost option. If he doesn't work out, there is no financial commitment.
  12. Bobby Abreu was released by the Angels today. He could handle LF in Fenway, and he always hit in Fenway.
  13. I was on central time all week, so I'll count your entry as the last entry.
  14. The rules didn't exclude trolls? My bad.
  15. No false claim. If Dice K is ready, they should be happy to promote him. If he is not throwing well on the stop in Pawtuckett, not getting people out, they will keep him on the DL.
  16. I believe that it was his second TJ
  17. That's good news.
