  1. It's just tough to watch this team. They are a mediocre team playing bad baseball.
  2. That's how bad teams play.
  3. Padilla may be having one of those outings where he gets no outs. We have had several of those from our bull pen this season.
  4. 3 innings of bullpen is like rolling the dice three times.
  5. 121 pitches and 5 days of rest should not limit him to 6 innings and 99 pitches the next time out.
  6. 6 innings is not going to be good enough this season, not with our pen. We don't have Bard and Papelbon to lock down the 7th, 8th and 9th innings of close games.
  7. 6 innings from our top 3 against the like of Baltimore is just not good enough with the like of our bullpen. Our top 3 are very good pitcher, but not one of them is a horse. Horse go deep into games and give you 200+ innings year in and year out. We don't have any guy like that.
  8. Well, I don't think the Sox have had a load of piss poor luck either. They have just played a whole lot of piss poor baseball.
  9. The O's have played like *******s in the field. There is our luck. But for their piss poor D, we would be down 3-1.
  10. The ace is ready to give it up.
  11. He's done. It's his push off leg.
  12. Middlebrooks batting second tonight. That's surprising.
  13. It was a privilege to watch him play, but I'll be glad when he is done. Once he is done, it will become quickly evident that he was the main reason for the Yankees consistent playoff appearances.
  14. 2004 had far superior pitching.
  15. The Red Sox had 2 different packages on the table for Johan-- one included Lester and the other included Ellsbury. When the Yankees dropped out of the bidding both packages were taken off the table and no other offers were made. When you look at the crap that the Twins got for Johan, we could have topped that easily without sacrificing the future.
  16. I'm sure that I raised holy hell here when that didn't go down, and I no doubt got criticized for wanting to mortgage the future etc. I was probably also accused of hating on Theo.
  17. I think the FO may have bet on the wrong horse when they traded Masterson instead of Buchjholz.
  18. I think you just hit the nail on the head, but what your post does is it explains why the Red Sox pitchers are not as good as the Rays' pitchers. It's kind of like something I have heard at times about certain pitchers. People will say that he has 1 bad inning per game (about 4 runs), but he is otherwise good. I answer that statement with a question. What do you call a pitcher that has one bad inning per game? Answer: A bad pitcher.
  19. We need to bludgeon teams, and it is very hard to do that consistently.
