  1. Not enough to let him compete against us. I am not saying that the ChiSox didn't offer the best deal. It just wasn't good enough to let him stay in the AL and compete with us. One last time for you guys who are obviously trolling me on this. I'd have given him to an NL team rather than let him stay in the AL and compete against us for a pitcher that is a long shot and a utility guy not as good as Alex Cora.
  2. I think they made a mistake. They should have give him to the Dodgers and taken whatever the Dodgers were offering. It wouldn't matter if what we got was worse than Zack.
  3. Crazier things have happened. I just wish they went hoping for a crazy thing from an NL team.
  4. You are missing my point. I'd rather have taken nothing from an NL team. The point is not moot. Zack sucks. He will not help us this year or next. I'd rather have gotten a bag of balls and sent him to a team that will not be competing with the Red Sox for a playoff spot.
  5. Zack Stewart? He's a nobody. The guy stinks.
  6. Check MLBTrade Rumors. Several NL teams were interested in Youk-- the Dodgers and Pirates had reported interest for several days.
  7. i would never make a trade with a competitor that would help them. If Youk helps them at all, we should've sent him to the NL. We didn't get anything in return from the Chi Sox, so why help the competition?
  8. I am praying that MVP was just being an *******.
  9. How will we measure if Youk is the reason? That bet makes no sense. They are a competitors. Let's just look to see if Youk has a positive effect on their WAR that exceeds what we got in return. How much does a win cost the Sox... more than $2 million? We can subtract 1 from Youk's WAR to account for the $2 million.
  10. ... and we get treated to more of the shitbags antics tonight.
  11. We could just acknowledge here that the other guy was right. Let's use WAR as the measure. Youk vs. the 2 bags of garbage that we got.
  12. Pick your wager. I'll leave it up to you.
  13. Then take my wager. I would rather have gotten nothing for him and sent him to the NL.
  14. You are missing the point entirely. I'd have given him to an NL team instead of giving him to a competitor. Are you really having a hard time understanding that? When we got rid of Nomar, we sent him to the NL, the same with Manny, but we send Youk to a team fighting us for the Wild card. That's just stupid.
  15. SFF, how much clearer could I make it? IMO, we got nothing-- players or moneywise ($2 million is insignificant). I would rather have taken nothing and sent him to the NL. Do you want to ask me again, what I wanted to get for him? That is not my issue. I would not have given him to a competitor. I would have sent him to the NL.
  16. People keep asking this, but who is arguing that we should have gotten more. Seriously, who is making that argument? You are missing the point entirely as is everyone else in their rallying around the FO. We got no one, so why not put him out of our misery and send him to the NL. Are these nobody's that we got so good and valuable that it was worth trading him to a competitor? Do people really think these guys are so good that it was worth trading him to a competitor? I can't see how anyone could answer that in the affirmative?
  17. Who is arguing with you on that? We would have gotten just as young sending him to the NL. It's funny to see you, BTR and SBF all in unison on this. BTR should invite SBF to the dinner with you.
  18. I have faith in my guys. That doesn't mean that I hand my opposition a weapon. What did we get rid of $2 million. jeezus, who are we the Royals! I am sure some NL team would have eaten most of that.
  19. Why take the chance?
  20. If he gets them 1 key win that may be enough to send us home. It was last year. Were these guys good enough to keep him in the AL? Pick two common names, let's say Perez and Wilson. Let's say we got them from some NL team. Surely, there are a bunch of prospects with those names in NL organizations. Would they be so much worse than Lillibridge and Zack whoever the f***?
  21. Were these guys good enough to keep Youk in the AL?
