A class act. The 2 greatest players of that generation were Aaron and Mays. Mays got much more attention because his style of play was more spectacular and he played his early years in NY as part of the great rivalry with the Brooklyn Dodgers. When they moved out west the Dodgers- Giants rivalry was still compelling.
Bloom has done as close to nothing as possible this offseason. I am with Kimmi thinking that ownership doesn’t want 2 seasons in a row with complete futility, but that’s where this roster will head without significant upgrades.
Pitchers had better breaking stuff and other offspeed pitches back then. He still would have sucked. Nolan Ryan never would have been legend he became without a curveball that was otherworldly.
