When Doubront reaches his innings limit, what do they do with him? He has no options, so they can't send him down. I guess they would have to phony DL him.
It would have been interesting to have guys around Ortiz that can hit and get on base with AGon finding his power stroke. He has been getting pitched around a lot. He could do even more damage in this lineup.
I think they dropped him from the 40 man roster last year and they had to DFA him to do it. He cleared waivers and was reassigned to Pawtucket. That's why I thought he was out of options.
They can design a shoe to help take the pressure off his achilles and tape him very tight to prevent further injury. He'll be a bit hobbled, but we pay him to hit not run the bases.
He is the first one that I know on TalKSox to "stick a fork" in him. He got a lot of guff over that. I figured that it would take some time for him to get back, but it looks like the kid is completely lost.
He was great in Japan, but I am not sure that even they refer to him as a national treasure. He hadn't done a thing here. It was an overboard statement about the guy IMO.
