    The next 6 games are on the road against the Ranger and the Yankees. Winning 4 out of the next 5 will be a tall order. I'd be happy with a 3-3 record in the next 6 games, but the bad news is that another 6 games will come off the schedule.

    If they want to make a run at this thing, they need to be buyers. I have a feeling that they will stand pat, and that would be the worst thing. Without adding to this team, I don't see them getting a WC spot, and they will have passed on an opportunity to start rebuilding for next year if they don't sell.

    I share your outrage and disappointment. It makes no sense to me.

    From this point on, the Sox have to play .626 ball to get just to 90 wins. I don't see it happening. This team doesn't have what it takes to play with that consistency.

    Sweet Caroline should not be played when the team is losing. It drives me crazy when the team is losing and air-headed people are singing that stupid song to each other. It is a ridiculous song at a ballgame under any circumstances, but it is grating when we are losing.

    The Sox should refocus on renting Dempster for 2 months. The cost will be lower than the cost for Garza. I am especially leery of Garza since he left today's game with cramping in his forearm. We don't need to buy another TJ surgery.

    kalish is just not that good. If Ross f***s us, we can find another OFer. There is no shortage of OFers better than Kalish at this point.

    Melancon continues to suck with an ERA a hair under 6. What a great "under the radar" acquisition! It was more like an "in the toilet" acquisition.

    It's pathetic that our ace gave up 4 runs in the first two innings to a last place team without 3 of its top 3 hitters. He should have been able to shut them down and win a low scoring game if the offense has an off night.

    Our starter dug us a 4-0 hole after 2 innings. It has a psychologically negative effect on our hitters to always be in a hole. It's not the fault of the offense. It our so-called ace pitchers.

    The safest bet in all of baseball is that the visitor will score first at Fenway park.

    Ranaudo is still pretty raw. I don't think we are hearing about him, because he isn't lighting the world on fire. He might get it done instead of Tazawa. Kalish and Ranaudo might be enough. Salty would be like whipped cream on top.

    I would look to move Kalish. He is blocked with us for at least another year, because I think they would be stupid not to re-sign Ross. We don't need him. Theo likes him. Also, see if Theo still has the hots for Salty. I am starting to suspect he is part of our pitching problem. And I would throw in a minor league pitcher, maybe Tazawa.

    No kidding. I know. Many a fan has asked them to go in to pitch.

    If you move top prospects, you should get a top player who adds to your payroll. I don't consider Garza such a top pitcher. He's not Cliff Lee, Halladay, or Santana before the injury. He may not be as good as Santana is post op. I'd give one top prospect and speculative guys after that.
