  1. It was a bad sign when he face planted chasing Youkilis to 3rd the other night.
  2. Is this pitcher supposed to be the next Koufax?
  3. I realize that. I wasn't trying to say that they should trade CC for a starter. I just don't think trading CC for HanRam is a bold move that we need. It is a dump of a malcontent by the Marlins and a dump of salary by the Sox. It's not going to improve the Sox. We need pitching and that will cost prospects and/or money. We will not get pitching in exchange for CC. I agree.
  4. I guess that Bobby V doesn't want to rock the boat with the veterans. He should be trying to put his best team out there and to hell with the egos.
  5. Another ridiculous move. With Ciriaco, there is no need for Punto. DFA him.
  6. Bobby V makes line ups like a complete moron. The other night he had Nava DHing and sore armed Crawford in LF. Tonight, he has the superior SS at DH. The other option was to have Pedroia DH to protect him from diving for balls and re-injuring himself. He's injured the thumb twice diving for balls. The guy is in dementia.
  7. It's not that simple. I remember a comic strip from years back of a golfer duffing on shot after another. In the first frame, he says "I hate this game." In the second frame, he exclaims the same thing. In the third frame, he asks, "why do I bother playing this game." In the final frame he answers his own question: "Because it's the only fun I have." That's why he watches the Red Sox.
  8. ^ and we are starting to lap it up like they had hoped. We are #1 in runs scored. Will being 1+ win us any more games if our pitchers keep digging holes?
  9. And we, the fans are supposed to lap this up like it is a good thing. This will not improve the 2012 Red Sox. They need some pitching. This is a big name distraction for the fans. Get lost LL if you think this is a big bold deal. Felix Hernandez would be bold. Same for Cole Hamels or Greinke.
  10. When the pitching stinks, it is hard to get on a consistent run.
  11. Memo to Benny: It's the pitching, stupid. We don't need a trade of one prima dona bat for another prima dona bat. We got the offense covered. We are #1 in runs. Get a pitcher. Trading CC for HanRam is not a bold move to help this team, and I don't care how many of your lackey and toadies in the press are carrying your water on this. That trade would be about Miami getting rid of a headache and Boston getting rid of a contract. It would do zero, zilch, nada for the 2012 Red Sox roster.
  12. I don't think Salty's performance behind the plate is a small sample size. He has been the primary catcher for 2 seasons. He continues to be one of the worst catchers in passed balls and erroneous throws and he doesn't have Wakefield as an excuse any longer. As for Lester, I'd give him 3 more starts to straighten himself out with Shop catching him. If he continues to be terrible, he has to be pulled from the rotation and sent to the pen to work things out.
  13. Oh goodness, this is to easy. You are riding some euphoria right now. Because this would be too easy and I don't want to pin a mean signature on you for a bet that you will certainly lose, I will decline the bet. However, I would love to be wrong about this. If on August 18th, the Sox are within 3 games of the Yankees, I will voluntarily change my signature to something meaner than you would make me use.
  14. How much longer do they stick with Lester before they pull him from the rotation. The Sox are 7-12 in his starts. That is just unacceptable. He is getting worse. He's becoming a reverse stopper. He is stopping winning streaks.
  15. Why aren't you also in the shower?:dunno:
  16. He's just a psycho jackass.
  17. The bats ain't the problem. And on the pitching side of the ledger, Doubs has not been a problem. The big 3 and Bard were the problems in the first half of the season.
  18. I think I remember him swinging and missing at a pitch or two that hit him.
  19. Damn, I thought that was out. He could be going into one of his white hot phases. We haven't seen that yet.
  20. I'd give Shoppach more time behind the plate. Salty's bat is ice cold. Let's see if Shoppach can help the staff more behind the dish.
  21. Only disgusting because they did not have blue cheese.
