  1. We don't belong on the same fiel with any of the top teams. We have embarrassed themselves since the end of August 2011. There will be no meaningful games in August. Back up the truck and unload whatever garbage you can unload. Dump them all. Send a message and shake it all up. Get rid of LL and the boob side-kick. Clean this house. The Hot Stove season will be the next time that baseball will be interesting for Red Sox fans. f*** the FO for ruining the Summer.
  2. Time to watch the Olympics.
  3. We can't roll garbage like this to the mound and expect to win. The guy sucks.
  4. I am not sure, but I remember Eck giving up 5 solo HRs to the Yanks for the Red Sox but winning the game 6-5. Wake did something like that too.
  5. And he has been hitting everything very hard-- very few quiet outs.
  6. They look like the keystone cops around the middle of the infield all too often.
  7. Greinke is not under control. He's a 2 month rental. As far as I can see, the Angels gave up 1 top 100 prospect Segura at #46. The reason I laugh at the Red Sox pattern of excuses is that it is just so ridiculous. I don't dispute what these acquisitions cost. What I laugh at is the whole disingenuous public relations BS. They make all these statements for weeks about looking to add pitching and being aggressive, but as you get closer to the deadline, they whine about the cost being too high. I don't for a minute believe that they didn't know 2-3 weeks ago our FO didn't know what these guys would cost with very close approximation. If they didn't, then they are a bigger bunch of dopes than even I had imagined. The feigned surprise at the cost is amusing to me. Who the hell are they kidding? The aggressively pursue talk etc. is just to keep the fans interested for a few more weeks, and then they whine that they tried their best, but the cost was just too high. Now, don't get me wrong again as you so often do. I am not saying that the cost is or isn't too high. I am just saying that they pretty much knew the cost for all these guys 2-3 weeks ago. The posturing about being buyers is just that--posturing.
  8. And the FO excuses begin. Cue the planted stories about the unreasonable prices demanded by other clubs and our steadfast refusal to mortgage the future. Same story. Different season.
  9. Jist some hyperbole. I get it. I engage in it myself from time to time.
  10. I don't think Kalish was tradeable at the time. He was still recovering from shoulder and upper spinal disc surgeries. I would have preferred to trade the guy that just had a disc drilled out in his neck. That is not a simple or risk-free procedure.
  11. They are going to let him build up more trade value against Met pitching this weekend.
  12. I agree with almost everything in your post, but I have one question about something you mention. When you said "hate Crawford and everything that he stands for", what do you and/or the Red Sox think he "stands for"?
  13. When a report like the one about Lee not being traded is put out there so unequivocally, it ain't happening unless it is the Yankees acquiring him, so I would prefer to believe MLB Trade Rumors in this case.
  14. Sorry SFF. It's going to be more of the SOS for the Sox the rest of the way. Thay like their pitching.
  15. Yes, it would be a major hit.
  16. Maybe they would do it if the Sox would eat the difference.
  17. At least Epstein was a coherent mealy mouth.
  18. He is in over his head. He doesn't have a creative bone in his body. He is simply a gopher and personal assistant that has been promoted to puppet. I can't even listen to the guy. He can barely express a coherent thought. He is a boob. I tagged him with that on day one and everyone got up in arms and mocked me for it. This guy is doing his best to live up to the nickname.
  19. But he went out and played every day and busted his tail whether he was injured or not. He had pride in his performance and respect for his team mates. Carl Crawford gets paid a big check. He should be busting his ass. I see a player that just doesn't give a damn.
  20. I was excited to get him, but they apparently overpaid by $26 million over the next closest offer. That was just foolhardy and that is why his contract is the albatross that it is. No one would give him that money except a drunken sailor when he was healthy and producing. It is not the first time that Theo grossly overpaid. No other team was close to his $52 billion bid for DIce K. I think he outbid every other team by $14 million. That is astoundingly bad judgment. In the early 1990's my company submitted a sealed bid for another company. We won the bid at $200,100,000. The next closest bid was $200,000,000. That is how it should be done.
