When the off season started, I was prepared to take a wait and see attitude. I figured that Cherries was handcuffed last year. With all the new payroll flexibility, I expected him to come out swinging. It took a while, but then he did the Napoli, Victorino and Uehara deals in a 4 day span so I thought we would start to see a plan take shape. Since then, we've watched pitcher after pitcher get signed or traded by other teams, we are rumored to be talking to Ryan Dempster even though he already turned down 2 years/$26 million.. Are you kidding? That's a very bad plan. Now, there are rumors that the Napoli deal might be falling apart. The only way to describe the state of the FO based on the available news is that it is in disarray. Hopefully, they surprise us, but the signs are not encouraging.
