  1. He is lighting up the board in my Fantasy league. He's beating all the other aces in points.
  2. I saw Bonds hit a 459 foot shot the one time that I went to PacBell. You know it is gone from the point of contact, so you just look to see where it lands. 459 is a damn long impressive shot, and Naps hit 2 in the same game that were longer. I hope he doesn't get sucked into competing in the HR Derby at the All Star break.
  3. Yaz was listed at 6', but he was only 5'11. Nava is about 5'9"
  4. It's May1st, Buehrle will end up with 11-15 wins and 3.75 - 4.24 ERA like he does every year. Josh Johnson's only challenge is staying healthy. It's still early, and our depth options of Aceves, Rubby, Wright and Webster are looking like we only have 1 decent option, so good health is a key. Things could break right and we get no injuries, but that hasn't happened since 2004. This is a great fun run, but a number of you are playing gotcha on May 1st? Seriously? I'll gladly eat your s*** in September if we are still in 1st place. Until then, can't you just enjoy baseball without this s***?
  5. I didn't think he would have the range or the arm to play RF, but he has done the job.
  6. Nava has become quite competent in RF.
  7. What was the distance on that shot?
  8. Wasn't it a back loaded contract?
  9. His numbers are there every year even though he barely k's 100 batters. If he puts up his usual numbers, he's worth it.
  10. More power from Nava. He crushed that.
  11. I think he waqs throwing 2 inning stints because his pitch counts were so elevated from walks and base runners. His last outing was his first relatively clean outing. We will see. They are certainly being very cautious in stretching him out if he just pitched 3 innings for the first time this season.
  12. Rubby with 3 scoreless innings today, 3 hits, 0 BB and 5 k's. This was his best outing thus far. They are still not stretching him out.
  13. Fred, I was jut throwing some of MVP's nonsense back at him. That was the only point of my post.
  14. Keep your political nonsense out of this you slimy turd.
  15. Yikes, that is really cynical. I am admittedly cynical about baseball transactions, but this is some huge cynacism about life and male-female relationships. Marriages break up for all sorts of reasons. Who the hell knows. I jsut hope it doesn't negatively affect his hitting.
  16. You just can't predict baseball, but this was a fun game.
  17. I thought I saw that old wounded horse last season. Hopefully, the horse collapses this season.
  18. If any accountability is given to Theo it is as part of the Theo/Luchhino regime. I posted earlier that our current success had to be attributed to the Cherington/Luchinno regime. I am sure that made many posters gag.
  19. That's too bad. I last went there last April. Remy's had a good and varied menu the first year. It was very affordable too. My son thought that they would not be able to keep their prices at that level. I guess he was right. The second year the menu became very limited and not very good, but they still have an enormous selection of beer and lots of big TVs.
  20. I agree with most of your assessment. However, NY always seems to find a way, and they are staying in the thick of the race. Getting Jeter and Grandy back will be huge boosts for them. As for Toronto, they are burying themselves in a deep hole. Now, Dickey is getting an MRI on the back of his shoulder. If a losing attitude takes hold, they could have problems.
  21. I like that Ben stood up and took responsibility. How much he was to blame is debatable. Now, that he is in charge, he is making some savy decisions, but I think we both agree that the Daniel Bard experiment sits at his doorstep.
  22. There's really good southern style barbeque place on Boylston. I forgot the name. Everything is tasty and tender. The portions are so big that you can clog all of your coronary arteries in one sitting. If you order the basket of biscuits, which are really great, just ask for a doggie bag for your dinner.
  23. Israel, I am also hoping that you lose.
  24. You are not an enforcer type. I think Fred was tongue in cheek about that, but you are a fair and level-headed arbiter. ^ Did you think you would ever read that in one of my posts? There is hope for lasting world peace.
